Abstract: The nucleic acid examination method includes an extraction step of extracting a nucleic acid from a specimen, a purification step of removing impurities in a liquid of any of a solution containing the specimen or a nucleic acid extraction liquid from which the nucleic acid has been extracted, at any stage before, during, or after the extraction step, an amplification step of amplifying a base sequence in the nucleic acid extraction liquid, a detection step of detecting presence or absence of the base sequence after the amplification step. The extraction step is a step of bringing the specimen into contact with an extraction reagent containing a nonionic surfactant, and the purification step includes an adsorption step of bringing a liquid into contact with a zeolite having any crystal structure of a ferrierite, a mordenite, an L-type, or a Y-type, to adsorb impurities in the liquid to the zeolite.
