Abstract: The present invention aims to provide an endoscope and its manufacturing method enabling to reduce a diameter of the endoscope required to have airtightness and facilitate a connecting work between a cable and a connector. A first tube body and a second tube body constituting an airtight container are relatively moved to extend and contract, so that it is possible to extend cables from a proximal end part of the second tube body by contracting the container, thereby enabling a connecting work between the cables and an airtight connector. After the completion of connecting work between the cables and the airtight connector, it is possible to store an extra length of the cables in the second tube body as well as to allow the airtight connector to engage with the proximal end part of the second tube body by extending the first tube body and the second tube body.

Abstract: An image pickup device that is provided at a distal end portion of an insertion unit of an endoscope having a longitudinal axis, includes: a first lens barrel that houses a first optical system; a second lens barrel that is disposed on a proximal end side of the first lens barrel, houses a second optical system on which light having passed through the first optical system is to be incident, and includes a second lens barrel-distal end portion that is a distal end portion having a diameter smaller than a diameter of a first lens barrel-proximal end portion which is a proximal end portion of the first lens barrel; a sliding part that is provided around an outer peripheral surface of the second lens barrel-distal end portion and that is in contact with the first lens barrel-proximal end portion; and a pressing member that is externally fitted over the sliding part from the first lens barrel-proximal end portion. The pressing member includes a pressing member-inner peripheral surface that is in contact with both an outer peripheral surface of the first lens barrel-proximal end portion and an outer peripheral surface of the sliding part, and a movement restricting portion that restricts a movement of the sliding part in an axial direction of the longitudinal axis between the first lens barrel-proximal end portion and the movement restricting portion.

Abstract: Provided are an optical unit and an endoscope that can enhance the airtightness between a holding tube and a cover glass without a joining member flowing into a distal end surface of an optical lens while maintaining the attachment accuracy of the cover glass. A spacer is disposed between a cover glass position restricting part of a holding tube of an optical unit and a cover glass. The position of the cover glass in an optical axis is restricted by the cover glass position restricting part via a spacer. An external diameter of a first end surface of the spacer is smaller than an internal diameter of a cover glass fixing part of the holding tube. Abstract: Provided is an endoscope that can connect proximal ends of the first signal lines and a signal relay part together without securing an extra length for the first signal lines. An airtight casing is disposed inside an outer tube of an insertion part, an imaging device and first signal lines are accommodated inside the airtight casing, a distal end of the airtight casing is airtightly sealed by a cover glass, and a proximal end of the airtight casing is airtightly sealed by a partition wall part. The airtight casing is constituted of a first tubular body and a second tubular body, and the second tubular body is disposed in a nested shape with respect to the first tubular body. During the connection between the proximal ends of the first signal lines and the terminal part, the second tubular body is advanced toward the first tubular body.
