Abstract: An ink composition contains (a) a compound which is represented by the following Formula (1) and has a specific molecular weight, (b) a colorant, (c) a polymer having an SP value of equal to or greater than 17 and equal to or less than 24, and (d) water, in which there is a specific relationship between a log P value of the component (a) and an SP value of the component (c). An ink set contains the ink composition, and an ink jet recording method uses the ink composition: R represents a specific alkyl group; Z1 represents a single bond, —NR1—, or —O—; Z2 represents —NR1— or —O—; at least one of Z1 or Z2 is —NR1—; R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a specific alkyl group; and L represents a specific alkylene group or —C2H4—O—C2H4—.

Abstract: An ink composition having excellent storage stability and curing properties after an image formation and an image forming method using the ink composition are provided.An ink composition including (A) a polymerizable compound represented by the following general formula (1) and (B) a polymerization initiator and an image forming method using the ink composition. In the general formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. R2 represents a liner or branched alkylene group having 2 to 4 carbon atoms. However, in R2, it is not possible to have a structure in which an oxygen atom and a nitrogen atom which are bonded to both ends of R2 are bonded to the same carbon atom of R2. R3 represents a divalent linking group. k represents 2 or 3. x, y and z each independently represent an integer of 0 to 6 and x+y+z satisfies 0 to 18.

Abstract: An image forming method has applying an ink composition which includes: at least a pigment, water, and polyvalent (meth)acrylamide of 3.0 mass % or more and 15.0 mass % or less with respect to the entire ink composition as a polymerizable compound, to a coated paper having a pigment layer on at least one surface of a support in which cellulose pulp is a main component, using an ink jet method; at least drying the applied ink composition; and curing the ink composition on the coated paper by irradiating the active energy rays at an illuminance of 1 W/cm2 or more and 2 W/cm2 or less to the ink composition which has undergone drying processing.
