    Abstract: An endoscope aid 100 to be attachably and detachably attached to a treatment tool insertion channel 23 of an endoscope 2 includes a tubular member 101 capable of being fixed to an outlet portion 25 in a state where the tubular member 101 is fitted inside the outlet portion 25 of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 that is kept in the shape of a straight pipe regardless of bending of a bending part 15 of the endoscope 2. When the tubular member 101 is fixed to the outlet portion 25, a proximal end 101A of the tubular member 101 located on a side opposite to an outlet side of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 is disposed closer to the outlet side of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 than a proximal end 15A of the bending part 15.

    Abstract: An endoscope system includes an endoscope and a cleaning adapter or connector. The endoscope has a port device or end sleeve, to which the cleaning adapter is coupled. The cleaning adapter includes a connector housing and a coupling sleeve, which has a male tapered portion. The connector housing includes a female thread (fastening device) and a guide surface. The port device includes a flange and a male thread. The guide surface guides the port device by contacting the flange. Thus, a male tapered surface or tapered sealing surface is axially aligned with a female tapered surface or tapered bore surface. The male tapered surface tightly contacts the female tapered surface by threaded engagement between the male and female threads. Accordingly, air-tightness or liquid-tightness can be ensured even in use of a plurality of connectors couplable selectively for connecting a related apparatus.

    Abstract: A treatment tool for an endoscope includes an operating part and a transmitting part that transmits an operation of the operating part to a grip part of a distal end part and a bendable part. The operating part has an operating member that is movable in a first direction and a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The transmitting part has a first transmitting member that is moved to an operating part side based on an operation of the operating member in the first direction and closes the grip part and a second transmitting member that is moved to the operating part side based on an operation of the operating member in the second direction and bends the bendable part.

    Abstract: Provided are an endoscope and a hardness adjustment device configured so that an arrangement space of built-in components in an operation portion can be ensured and that burden on a coil spring and a wire can be reduced. In an operation portion, a retained portion of a coil spring unit is retained at a first radial position by a coil spring holder as a first retainer, and a base end portion of a wire unit is retained at a second radial position by a wire holder as a second retainer. A base end portion of the coil spring unit is retained at a third radial position by a coil spring contact portion as a third retainer.

    Abstract: An endoscope aid attachably and detachably attached to a treatment tool insertion channel of an endoscope includes a flexible tubular-member longer than a total length of the treatment tool insertion channel. The tubular-member has a treatment tool insertion pipe line and a suction pipe line. A distal end part of the tubular-member has a sliding contact part that has an outer periphery coming in sliding contact with an inner peripheral surface of an outlet portion of the treatment tool insertion channel maintained in the shape of a straight pipe irrespective of bending of a bending part of the endoscope and is disposed in the outlet portion, and an extending part that extends from the sliding contact part to a distal end side and is disposed to protrude from an outlet of the treatment tool insertion channel. A distal-end-side opening of the suction pipe line is provided in the extending part.

    Abstract: In an endoscope, a flexible device of an elongated tube has a variable stiffness device. The variable stiffness device includes a movable control wire and a coil spring, to which compression force is applied to change stiffness. There occur changes in stiffness of the flexible device in plural radial directions of the coil spring at an equal point in an axial direction. The variable stiffness device is so constructed that a difference between maximum and minimum levels of stiffness of the variable stiffness device is set at most 0.2 time as much as stiffness of the flexible device with internal structures other than the variable stiffness device. Thus, unexpected grip feeling in manipulation of an operator at the time of advance can be removed in relation to undulating motion of the coil spring.
