Abstract: An endoscope aid 100 to be attachably and detachably attached to a treatment tool insertion channel 23 of an endoscope 2 includes a tubular member 101 capable of being fixed to an outlet portion 25 in a state where the tubular member 101 is fitted inside the outlet portion 25 of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 that is kept in the shape of a straight pipe regardless of bending of a bending part 15 of the endoscope 2. When the tubular member 101 is fixed to the outlet portion 25, a proximal end 101A of the tubular member 101 located on a side opposite to an outlet side of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 is disposed closer to the outlet side of the treatment tool insertion channel 23 than a proximal end 15A of the bending part 15.

Abstract: An endoscope system includes an endoscope and a cleaning adapter or connector. The endoscope has a port device or end sleeve, to which the cleaning adapter is coupled. The cleaning adapter includes a connector housing and a coupling sleeve, which has a male tapered portion. The connector housing includes a female thread (fastening device) and a guide surface. The port device includes a flange and a male thread. The guide surface guides the port device by contacting the flange. Thus, a male tapered surface or tapered sealing surface is axially aligned with a female tapered surface or tapered bore surface. The male tapered surface tightly contacts the female tapered surface by threaded engagement between the male and female threads. Accordingly, air-tightness or liquid-tightness can be ensured even in use of a plurality of connectors couplable selectively for connecting a related apparatus.

Abstract: An endoscope treatment tool includes an insertion part that is insertable into a first treatment tool channel of an endoscope of an endoscope system, an operation part, and a single operation wire pulled through operation of the operation part. The insertion part includes a distal end portion that has an openable and closable grip portion, a bending portion that is able to be bent, and a connecting-portion that connects the bending portion to the operation part. The connecting-portion is moved forward and backward along a longitudinal axis of the connecting-portion and is rotated about the longitudinal axis. As the connecting-portion is moved forward and backward or is rotated, the grip portion moves forward and backward or rotates, through the operation of the operation part. As the operation wire is pulled, the grip portion is closed, and the bending portion bends in a state where the grip portion is closed.

Abstract: An endoscope aid attachably and detachably attached to a treatment tool insertion channel of an endoscope includes a flexible tubular-member longer than a total length of the treatment tool insertion channel. Abstract: In an endoscope, a flexible device of an elongated tube has a variable stiffness device. The variable stiffness device includes a movable control wire and a coil spring, to which compression force is applied to change stiffness. There occur changes in stiffness of the flexible device in plural radial directions of the coil spring at an equal point in an axial direction. The variable stiffness device is so constructed that a difference between maximum and minimum levels of stiffness of the variable stiffness device is set at most 0.2 time as much as stiffness of the flexible device with internal structures other than the variable stiffness device. Thus, unexpected grip feeling in manipulation of an operator at the time of advance can be removed in relation to undulating motion of the coil spring.
