摘要: A radioimmunoassay method for determining the quantity of an analyte of interest in a sample is disclosed. The analyte of interest may be an antigen or other chemical entity. A known antibody to the antigen or other entity is employed and is conjugated to a functionalized nanoparticle. Because of the high surface area presented by the present nanoparticle—antibody conjugates, the present radioimmunoassay method is particularly suited for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of low molecular weight chemicals.

摘要: Disclosed are treatment agents and methods of treatment utilizing the agents directed toward diseases in which the disease causing pathogen includes α6β1 integrin receptors and/or α6β4 integrin receptors on the surface of the pathogen. In one embodiment, the disease can be breast cancer. The therapeutic agents disclosed include a polypeptide comprising at least a portion of the G domain of the laminin-5 α3 chain that has been shown to bind α6β1 integrin receptors and α6β4 integrin receptors. In one embodiment, the therapeutic agents can be fused or chimeric materials in which the laminin-5 α3 chain polypeptide has been chemically bound to another material that can be useful in the destruction or neutralization of the pathogen.

摘要: This is a ceramic disk PTC and heater assembly, and a method for attaching one to the other, the combination useful in the heating elements of solid ink printing apparatus. The ceramic disk PTC attachment method is made up of a low melting temperature solder and a high operating temperature adhesive. The solder attaches the disk to a substrate, and provides a low resistance electrical and thermal bond to the substrate. The adhesive is used to substantially completely encircle the solder, containing the solder when melted, and keeping the PTC attached when the solder is melted. The adhesive can also partially encircle the solder to a degree sufficient to substantially prevent substantial escape of molten solder from the attachment area.

摘要: Methods of forming proteinaceous products such as cell culture supplement capable of supporting the growth and culturing of cells, tissue, and organs, are generally disclosed. One method generally provides for the collection of the internal tissue of an animal, such as a bovine, and the processing of the internal tissue to degrade and/or lyse the tissue components. A cell culture supplement or other proteinaceous product can be prepared from the processed tissue. A proteinaceous product can include, for example, a complete protein profile of the tissue or only certain biological factors extracted from the tissue. Collected internal tissue can be lymphatic tissue such as the supramammary glands of a dairy or beef cow or the thymus gland of a veal calf.
