Abstract:
A test apparatus comprising a self illuminated light source and second moveable element having spectrophotometrically neutral gray and color patches of predetermined hues and saturations. A digital software file provides identical spectrophotometrically neutral grayscale and color data which, when reproduced on a monitor or projection system, should match the grayscale and test colors provided by the apparatus. When the apparatus is placed in front of the monitor image or projected image, the neutral grays and color patches reproduced on the monitor image or projected image are compared against the image of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A soft edge mask comprises a panel having an opaque area forming a mask portion and defined by a clearly focussed edge of a predetermined shape, a transparent area forming a clear portion defined by a clearly focussed edge of the same said predetermined shape, and a margin portion extending between the opaque portion and the clear portion, the margin portion having a light transmissability varying progressively from the edge of the mask portion to the edge of the clear portion, and, at each position between the mask portion and the clear portion, being clearly focussed and having the same said predetermined shape.
Abstract:
An apparatus for identifying differences in the visual and recorded appearance of colors and gray tones illuminated by light sources having different spectral distribution and having: a first image with illumination, with separate and different color elements and with gray scale elements, apertures in the first image adjacent to the elements, a second image with illumination having a plurality of separate elements of color and gray scale, corresponding to the elements of the first image so that the elements on the second image are viewable through the apertures in the first image, with corresponding color and gray scale elements adjacent to one another in the first and second images, and a method of comparing light quality using such apparatus.
Abstract:
An apparatus for deploying test images for a preset period within the field of view of a camera, and having; a panel supporting the test image, and moveable transmission connected with the panel and operable to deploy, and retrieve, the panel.
Abstract:
An apparatus which provides a multiplicity of test colors and neutral tones simultaneously within a microscope's optical system that may be used to align, and/or calibrate the microscope, and the light source and any associated recording devices, automatically or with input from an operator. The test colors and neutral tones may also be used as references against which to judge specimens being viewed in the microscope. Also disclosed is a method of operating a microscope using such a such pattern.
Abstract:
A test apparatus comprising a portable reference element having color and spectrophotometrically neutral gray elements of predetermined hues and saturations, and a digital software file provides identical color and spectrophotometrically neutral grayscale data which, when printed or otherwise reproduced accurately, may be compared with the test colors and grayscale provided by the portable reference element, enabling appropriate adjustments to be made to the printer as required.
Abstract:
A security camera and an image, within the camera's field of view, of a test pattern, containing color elements and grayscale elements having know predetermined spectrophotometrical values and resolution elements. After taking of images at a scene, and when subsequently reproduced accurately the elements will produce electronic signals that are detectable on measuring equipment well-known to the trade, such as vectorscopes and waveform monitors. Adjustments and corrections can then be made to the images of a scene, based on those readings. A method of adjusting and correcting images using the test pattern is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A reference image for use with color camera systems and having a support screen, an opening through the screen and a reference image object in registration with the opening, a light panel movably mounted on the screen, whereby the panel may be moved into a variety of different orientations with respect to the screen, and direct light towards the opening.
