摘要： A panel frame created by attaching molding pieces or tracks to a wall or other substrate to support a fabric panel whose margin has an excess tail that is anchored in the tracks. Each track is constituted by a plastic extrusion having a flat base that lies against the substrate and an overlying profiled strip having an edge wall joined to the base at right angles thereto along a line intermediate the upper and lower edges of the base, the section of the base below this line functioning as a mounting flange for the track. The strip further includes a raised flat face which is parallel to the base to define a storage channel therebetween, the face extending from the edge wall to a rounded cove terminating in a bent-in nose that normally abuts the upper border of the base to define a dilatable inlet leading into the storage channel. The cove is provided with a conforming layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive which initially serves to hold the margin of the fabric panel before the tail thereof is stuffed into the storage channel through the inlet, which initial holding action facilitates the proper orientation of the grain or pattern of the fabric panel relative to the track.

摘要： An adapter for an electrical wall fixture such as a wall light switch having a toggle or other actuator, the adapter serving to protrude the switch outside of the wall outlet box in which it is nested to the extent necessary to project the toggle through an opening in a fabric covering spaced from the wall. The standard switch includes a pair of mounting wings each having a slot therein to receive a primary screw for attaching the wing to the outlet box and a secondary screw which normally serves to hold a standard face plate over the switch to cover the outlet box. The adapter is constituted by a cover plate which overlies the outlet box and is provided with spacer elements to place the surface of the plate against the rear of the fabric covering. The cover plate has an opening to accommodate the toggle, a pair of slots which register with the wing slots and a pair of holes which register with the wing holes, whereby the switch may be secured to the rear of the cover plate by the secondary screws and the assembly of the cover plate and switch secured to the outlet box by the primary screws. The fabric covering is sandwiched between the cover plate and a transparent face plate attached thereto, the face plate having an opening therein which registers with an opening in the fabric covering to permit the toggle to project therethrough.

摘要： A tool for use in conjunction with molding pieces adapted to mount a fabric sheet to cover a wall, the pieces being attached along the perimeter of the wall to be covered. Each piece includes a storage channel provided with a longitudinally-extending inlet adjacent the perimeter of the wall to receive the selvage tail of the fabric sheet to be stuffed into the channel to support the fabric. The tool is formed by a flexible flat blade extending from a handle, the forepart of the blade being curved to an extent sufficient to permit its entry into said inlet and its passage into said storage channel whereby when the forepart engages the tail, it is capable of pushing it through the inlet into the channel.

摘要： An assembly of border pieces attachable to a wall to form a framework for mounting a fabric sheet which completely covers the wall without being adhered thereto. The assembly is constituted by linear border pieces whose ends abut right angle border pieces to define a framework that follows the perimeter of the wall and of any openings therein. Each piece includes a storage channel that runs along the outer edge of the piece and has a narrow inlet on the face of the piece, and a keyway extending along the piece in parallel relation to the channel, the keyway also having a narrow inlet on the face of the piece. In securing the selvage of the fabric sheet to a border piece, the selvage is placed over the face and a zone thereon is trapped within the keyway by means of a compressible spline which overlies the selvage zone and is forced into the keyway through its inlet, the remaining tail of the selvage being stuffed into the storage channel whereby the exposed selvage presents a smooth appearance.

摘要： A fabric-covered chair rail for creating a horizontal waistline along the interior walls of a room or passage that is both protective and decorative. The chair rail for a given interior is formed by pieces whose lengths are appropriate to the interior walls. Each piece is constituted by a molding having upper and lower edges which are separated from the base to define therewith inlet jaws communicating with an internal storage channel running the full length of the molding. Overlying the molding whose base abuts the wall to be railed and conforming to the contour thereof is a replaceable band of fabric having upper and lower margins which initially extend beyond the edges of the molding. The fabric margins are inserted in the jaws of the upper and lower edges of the molding and are stuffed into the storage channels whereby the fabric fully covers the exposed portion of the molding and presents a smooth and attractive appearance.

摘要： An easily-installed fabric wall covering system making it possible to support a fabric sheet against a wall. The system is constituted by a frame of extruded molding pieces or tracks that are attached to the wall along the perimeter of the wall surface to be covered. Each track includes a storage channel having a generally rectangular cross-section whose base is extended beyond the rear end of the channel to define a wall mounting flange. The face of the channel has an adhesive layer thereon to hold the margin of the fabric sheet while it is being mounted, the excess tail of the sheet which extends beyond the margin being stuffed by a tool into an inclined inlet at the front end of the channel. This inlet is defined by dilatable jaws that are pried open by the tool to admit the tail into the storage channel. When the tool is withdrawn, the tail is clamped by the jaws to securely anchor the sheet on the wall.

摘要： A fixture serving as a storage holster for a portable hair dryer and also functioning as a rack for drying towels and other fabric articles. The fixture which is mountable on a wall or attachable to an existing towel rack includes an upright holster section in the form of a tube whose upper end has an open socket formation adapted to receive and nest the nozzle of a portable hair dryer whereby the dryer may readily be removed from the holster for its intended use or stored thereon. Extending from the tube of the holster section and communicating therewith is a hollow rack section for supporting a towel or other article to be dried. The rack is provided with perforations to emit hot air jets when the socketed hair dryer is activated, thereby effecting drying of the article supported on the rack.
