摘要： A system, a method and computer-readable media for establishing connectivity over a plurality of access technologies. A system is provided that includes a client device. The client device is configured to communicate over a network by utilizing at least two access technologies. The system also includes a gateway in communication with the client device. The gateway includes multiple access technology termination nodes configured to support communications utilizing multiple access technologies. A gateway assignment manager is also included in the system. This manager is configured to assign the client device to the gateway. The gateway assignment manager is further configured to maintain the assignment of the client device to the gateway when the client device switches from utilizing a first access technology to utilizing a second access technology.

A network examining module identifies end devices having an active data flow. A data session populating module populates a data store for an end device group identifying end devices having active data flows. A managing module determines which end devices are compatible for a data flow to be transferred. The data flow transferring module transfers the active data flow from one group member end device to another group member end device.

An exemplary method involves a first radio access network (RAN) component: (a) sending a registration message to an IMS network in order to register the first RAN component with the IMS network, wherein the IMS registration message provides an IP address at which to register the first RAN component, (b) receiving a service request from a first access terminal, wherein the first RAN component is a serving RAN component for the first access terminal, and (c) in response to receiving the service request, the first RAN component engaging in an IMS service on behalf of the first access terminal, wherein engaging in the IMS service on behalf of the first access terminal comprises sending the IMS network a first initiation message for a session event, wherein the first initiation message comprises: (i) a field that identifies the first access terminal and (ii) a field that includes an IP address of a second RAN component that serves a target access terminal.

The method is able to convert unique text-based fields into binary representations in a manner that maintains the global uniqueness of the text-based filed while reducing its size. The method includes identifying a text-based field within a text-based protocol message, such that the text-based field is identified as having to be globally unique; compressing the text-based field into a binary representation using a hashing algorithm, wherein the binary representation is globally unique; and transmitting the binary representation of the text-based field to a recipient.
