    摘要: A photosensitive composition contains a photosensitive resin and a colorant. The photosensitive resin includes (A) a copolymer of (a1) at least one first polymerizable monomer containing 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups with (a2) at least one second polymerizable monomer other than the first polymerizable monomer, and (B) at least one compound (B) containing an ethylenically unsaturated double bond and a functional group capable of reacting with hydroxyl group. The compound (B) has been reacted with the copolymer (A). A color filter has at least one filter segment formed using the photosensitive composition.

    摘要: A color filter includes red, green and blue filter segments and is adapted to be used in a liquid crystal display device using, as a light source, a white LED having specified spectral properties. The red filter segment has a 50% transmittance wavelength within a range of 595 to 610 nm and a transmittance of 85% or more at a wavelength of 630 nm. The blue filter segment has a maximum transmittance wavelength of 455 nm or less and a transmittance of 55% or more at a wavelength of 450 nm. A thickness of each of the red, green and blue filter segments is 3.0 μm or less. A liquid crystal display device including this color filter and the white LED is also disclosed.

The solidified liquid crystal layer is constituted by first, second and third regions arranged periodically, the third region being interposed between the first region and the second region. The first region is optically anisotropic and the second region is optically isotropic, the third region is not optically isotropic, a degree of orientation of mesogens of the liquid crystal compound being lower than that of the first region. An in-plane average refractive index ni of the second region is different from an in-plane average refractive index na of the first region and an in-plane average refractive index nm of the third region is between ni and na.
