    Abstract: A sound attenuating chimney element for a turbomachine system includes a high density outer body having an external surface and an internal surface, and one or more acoustic attenuation layers provided on the external surface of the outer body. The one or more acoustic attenuation layers include an outer surface portion and an inner surface portion. A structural layer is provided on the outer surface portion of the one or more acoustic attenuation layers. The structural layer includes an external surface that defines a duct configured and disposed to pass gases from the turbomachine system.

In one embodiment, the air inlet silencer includes a body, and a plurality of concentric baffles coupled to and axially surrounding the body. In another embodiment, an air inlet system for a turbomachine includes the air inlet silencer, as discussed herein, positioned within a silencer housing. The air inlet system may also include a deflector positioned within the silencer housing adjacent the air inlet silencer. In a further embodiment, a turbomachine includes a turbine coupled to a compressor, and an air inlet system, as described herein, coupled to the compressor.

    Abstract: A system includes an Active Noise Control (ANC) module unit configured to be installed within an air intake or exhaust of a power generation unit. The ANC module unit includes an ANC housing shaped to fit within the air intake or exhaust, an ANC core configured to be secured within the ANC housing, which includes a microphone configured to detect a sound generated by the power generation unit, a control board configured to control the noise-canceling sound based on the sound signal from the microphone and a set of pre-determined noise reduction transfer functions, and a first speaker configured to deliver a first noise-canceling sound to the air intake or exhaust.

    Abstract: A system configured to thermally regulate heat dissipation of a power plant system (e.g. steam turbine, gas turbine compressor, intercooler or other fluidic thermal source, etc.) and acoustically attenuate operation of an air cooled heat exchanger via sound reflection, sound absorption, sound diffraction, and/or active noise cancellation is disclosed. In one embodiment, a system includes: a set of inner barriers; a base barrier disposed beneath the set of inner barriers; a set of outer barriers disposed about the base barrier and the set of inner barriers, the set of outer barriers including a top surface located above a bottom surface of the set of inner barriers; a heat exchanger fluidly connected to a power generation system and disposed within the set of inner barriers; and a set of fans disposed within the set of inner barriers and configured to form a flow of air through the set of inner barriers.
