Abstract: A turbine ventilation system includes a controller that is coupled to an actuator that is coupled to a vane that is disposed across an intake port between a gas turbine enclosure and the turbine ventilation system. The controller can cause the actuator to change a position of the vane to alter an air flow from the turbine ventilation system into the gas turbine enclosure based upon feedback from one or more sensors disposed within the gas turbine enclosure.

Abstract: A control system includes memory storing instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions. The processor is configured to receive a first indication of a power grid voltage, receive a second indication of a power grid phase angle, receive a third indication of a generator voltage of power provided by a generator, and receive a fourth indication of a generator phase angle of power provided by the generator. The processor is configured to determine a voltage gap between the generator voltage and the power grid voltage and a time difference between the generator phase angle and the power grid phase angle. The processor is configured to generate a signal to cause the generator voltage and the generator phase angle to synchronize with the power grid voltage and the power grid phase angle, respectively.

Abstract: A system for controlling a power system is provided. The system includes an automatic voltage regulator configured to transmit a pulse output voltage, a power system stabilizer in communication with the automatic voltage regulator, and a self-tuning computing device. The self-tuning computing device is programmed to: a) receive a plurality of sensor information of operation of a generator; b) detect an oscillation during the operation of the generator from the plurality of sensor information; c) determine a gain and a time constant to counteract the oscillation; and d) transmit, to the power system stabilizer, the gain and the time constant. The power system stabilizer is configured to instruct the automatic voltage regulator to adjust its pulse output voltage based on the gain and the time constant.

Abstract: Systems and methods for first time synchronization of a generator with an electrical grid are disclosed. According to one embodiment of the disclosure, a method of first time synchronization of a generator with an electrical grid can be provided. The method may include receiving, during an acceleration of a turbine, a voltage of a generator and a voltage of an electrical grid; receiving, during an acceleration of a turbine, a frequency of the generator and a frequency of the electrical grid; receiving, during an acceleration of a turbine, one or more phase angles of the generator and one or more phase angles of the electrical grid; when the frequency of the generator matches with the frequency of the electrical grid, at least one of the one or more phase angles of the generator match with the respective at least one of the one or more phase angles of the electrical grid, and the difference between the voltage of the generator and the voltage of the electrical grid reaches a threshold voltage difference, synchronizing the generator to the electrical grid by closing a generator breaker or by closing a line breaker. The method may further include: determining the generator is synchronized to the electrical grid; and increasing the voltage of the generator to match the voltage of the electrical grid.
