Abstract:
Air conditioner units and methods for determining indoor room temperatures are provided. A method includes calculating a difference between a first temperature received from a first temperature sensor and a second temperature received from a second temperature sensor. The first and second temperature sensors are disposed within an indoor portion of an air conditioner unit, the first temperature sensor disposed proximate an indoor heat exchanger of the air conditioner unit, the second temperature sensor spaced from the indoor heat exchanger relative to the first temperature sensor. The method further includes modifying the second temperature based on the difference to obtain a corrected temperature, and outputting the corrected temperature.
Abstract:
A system for protecting an electrical junction having a first pin and a second pin is provided. The system includes a first circuit protection device coupled to the first pin and configured to sense at least a first current and a second circuit protection device coupled to the second pin and configured to sense at least a second current. Each of the first circuit protection device and the second circuit protection device includes a trip mechanism configured to interrupt current flowing through a respective circuit protection device and a trip unit operatively coupled to the trip mechanism. The trip unit is configured to activate the trip mechanism based on a determination that a respective current exceeds a predetermined threshold.
Abstract:
Air conditioner units and methods for operating air conditioner units are provided. A method includes determining an operational mode for the air conditioner unit, the air conditioner unit comprising a plurality of heater banks, and determining a speed of a blower fan of the air conditioner unit when the operational mode is a heating mode. The method further includes comparing an input current level to a current threshold value when the speed is a low speed, and disabling one of the plurality of heater banks when the input current level is greater than or equal to the current threshold value.
Abstract:
A heater assembly in an air conditioning unit includes one or more first heating elements characterized by a first wattage density, and one or more second heating elements characterized by a second wattage density. The second wattage density is greater than the first wattage density. The one or more second heating elements are interspersed with the one or more first heating elements.

Abstract:
A heater assembly includes one or more first heating elements, the one or more first heating elements being characterized by a positive temperature coefficient; and one or more second heating elements, the one or more second heating elements comprising resistance wire elements. The one or more second heating elements are positioned in proximity to the one or more first heating elements such that at least one of the one or more second heating elements is configured to, upon being powered on, pre-heat at least one of the one or more first heating elements before the at least one first heating element is powered on.
