Abstract:
A water treatment system comprises at least one electrolytic cell comprising at least one electrode and a power source for powering the electrode. The electrode may be a metal electrode comprising a coating of polymer comprising structural units of formula I (I) wherein R1 is independently at each occurrence a C1-C6 alkyl radical or —SO3M wherein M is independently at each occurrence a hydrogen or an alkali metal a hydrogen or an alkali metal, R2 is independently at each occurrence a C1-C6 alkyl radical, a is independently at each occurrence an integer ranging from 0 to 4, and b is independently at each occurrence an integer ranging from 0 to 3. An associated method is also described.

Abstract:
An electrodialysis cell includes a housing defining an internal chamber, a core positioned within the internal chamber, a first electrode positioned in the internal chamber adjacent the housing, a second electrode coupled to the core and spaced from the first electrode, and a membrane assembly positioned between the first and second electrodes in a spiral wound configuration. The housing includes an inlet end for receiving a feed fluid and an outlet end in fluid communication with the inlet end. The membrane assembly includes a plurality of ion exchange membranes spaced from each other to define a plurality of fluid channels between the inlet and outlet ends.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a subsea water processing system comprising an electrochemical unit that uses raw or treated seawater to generate high pH and low pH solutions that are used to clean at least one subsea process apparatus during a cleaning cycle by circulation through the at least one subsea process apparatus via acid or base flow lines connecting the electrochemical unit with the subsea process apparatus on-site.
