Abstract:
The specification discloses a sheet feeder in which the sheets are driven by one-way rotatable friction rollers mounted on a lever freely pivotably mounted on a reciprocable support, the height of the pivot of the lever being adjustable to vary the angle of inclination of said lever to the horizontal to adapt the sheet feeder for feeding different weight sheets. The pivot of the lever may also be adjustable forwards and backwards to adapt the feeder for different sheet sizes and thicknesses of paper.
Abstract:
A device for clamping an ink reservoir to a duplicator ink pump, including a slidable jaw to pull the reservoir nozzle against an ink conduit and a feeler movable across a mouth of the jaw to detect the presence of a partly inserted nozzle and either to push the nozzle home or to prevent further sliding of the jaw.
Abstract:
A method and device for loading an offset master on to the plate cylinder of a rotary duplicating machine. Liquid adhesive is applied to the tail of the master prior to loading thereof, on the side which after loading contacts the master cylinder of the duplicating machine, so that the tail of the master is prevented from flapping and thereby becoming damaged. The invention is suitable for use with any form of rotary duplicating machine having an automatic clamp for engaging the leading end of a master being loaded.
Abstract:
The specification discloses a priming wick for use in printing apparatus and comprising an outer fine short pile material, prferably velvet, surrounding an inner absorbent reservoir structure, preferably synthetic sponge material. Such a priming wick may conveniently be used for applying priming solution to the blanket of an offset lithographic machine.
Abstract:
Printing apparatus including a movable sheet sensing member cooperable with a driven slotted sheet deflector member so that a passing sheet in contact with said deflector member will cover the slot and cause the sensing member to be urged into a sheet present position to disenable the pressure roller raising mechanism. Absence of a sheet permits the sensing member to enter the slot and thereby remain in a sheet absent position.
