Abstract: A mount assembly for a vehicle includes a housing having an upper mounting portion coupled to a first area of the vehicle and a lower mounting portion coupled to a second area of the vehicle. A dampening arrangement is disposed between the upper mounting portion and lower mounting portion. The dampening arrangement may include one or more biasing layers and one or more springs cooperating with the upper mounting portion and lower mounting portion. One or more relatively high viscoelastic layers are disposed adjacent to and cooperate with the one or more biasing layers. One or more relatively low viscoelastic layers are disposed adjacent and cooperate with the one or more relatively high viscoelastic layers. The one or more biasing layers, one or more relatively high viscoelastic layers, one or more relatively low viscoelastic layers and optional springs are configured to dissipate axial forces acting on the mount assembly.

Abstract: A bearing supporting a non-homogeneously or homogeneously loaded rotating component of a motor vehicle engine includes a plurality of bearing portions joined together and forming a substantially cylindrical outer surface and a substantially cylindrical center bore, the substantially cylindrical central bore surrounding and supporting the non-homogeneously or homogeneously loaded rotating component. The bearing having a plurality of bearing layers made of different materials unevenly distributed about a circumference and along a longitudinal axis of the bearing, the bearing layers reactively ovalizing in response to loads imparted by the non-homogeneously or homogeneously rotating components, and changing a minimum lubricating fluid thickness on a portion of the substantially cylindrical central bore that ovalizes in response to transient local loads imparted by the non-homogeneously or homogeneously loaded rotating component.

Abstract: A piston pin assembly is provided including a cylindrical pin body having a hollow interior. A mass is disposed in the hollow interior of the cylindrical pin body and a viscoelastic, plastic, or elastomeric material is disposed in the hollow interior between the mass and the cylindrical pin body. The mass and viscoelastic, plastic, and elastomeric material provides a damper for the piston and piston pin to delay the acceleration of piston lateral motion and stabilize the piston rotation and reduce the noise and friction.

Abstract: A connecting rod for connecting between a crankshaft and a piston, includes a small end with a cylindrical hole adapted to for receiving a piston pin, a big end having a crank pin bore adapted for receiving a crank pin of a crankshaft and a stem portion extends between the small end and big end. The stem portion can have an I-beam cross-section with a pair of legs and a web extending between the pair of legs. The web includes oppositely facing surfaces defining a thickness that is less than a thickness of the pair of legs. The web includes at least one grooved/recessed portion that is recessed relative to the oppositely facing surfaces of the web.

Abstract: A rotating fuel injector assembly for a vehicle engine includes a base, an internal tip, an intermediate coaxial tip, and an external coaxial tip. The internal tip may be configured to move between an extended closed position and a retracted open position relative to the base. The intermediate coaxial tip may include an opening defined in a base of the intermediate coaxial tip. The base and the opening abuts the internal tip when the internal tip is in the extended closed position. The external coaxial tip may move between an extended open position and a retracted closed position relative to the base. The external coaxial tip includes a plurality of apertures which may align with the at least one opening in the intermediate coaxial tip at a predetermined event.
