Abstract: A connector includes a housing and a multi-layer peripheral structure disposed on the housing. The multi-layer peripheral structure is configured to enclose one or more pins and to expand in response to exposure to a liquid for disconnecting the connector from an electronic component without user intervention. The multi-layer peripheral structure may include an outer layer that may include a permeable material, a middle layer disposed within the outer layer, where the middle layer may include a material that expands when wet, and an inner layer disposed within the middle layer.

Abstract: A method for a hard reset of a target electronic device includes establishing a near field communications (NFC) channel to the target electronic device, receiving a wireless signal at the target electronic device over the NFC channel, and comparing a signature of the received wireless signal with a predefined characteristic signature of a reset command signal. Responsive to the comparing, the method includes generating a reset signal resetting the target electronic device.

Abstract: A power adapter can include a power input node, a communication channel node, an output node, a low-pass filter, a modulator, and a high-pass filter. The low-pass filter can include a low-pass input node coupled to the power input node and a low-pass output node coupled to the output node. The modulator can include a modulator input node coupled to the communication channel node and a modulator output node. The modulator can be configured to modulate data received from the communication channel node onto a signal having a higher frequency than a data-carrying signal carrying the data received from the communication channel node and output the modulated data to a high-pass input node of a high-pass filter. The high-pass filter can include the high-pass input node coupled to the modulator output node and a high-pass output node coupled to the output node.
