Abstract:
A raised access floor panel with a replaceable insert is provided. The panel includes a cross-braced framework constructed of four side rail members, and at least one cross-brace member. The cross-brace member is connected to the rail members so that the cross-brace member spans an area defined by the rail members. A plate frame is connected to an upper edge of the framework. The plate frame has a centroid void area which is surrounded by a peripheral portion. The peripheral portion includes an inner margin and an outer margin. The outer margin has right-angled corner forming portions. The inner margin is formed with a Z-section profile having a web portion which is capable of receiving the panel insert in fitment with the plate frame so that the insert and the peripheral portion are capable of providing a co-planar working surface.
Abstract:
An articulating raised access floor panel is provided. The floor panel plate has upper and lower surfaces, four edges defining four corner portions, and a diagonal clear slot positioned at each of the corner portions. A diagonal channel member is connected to the lower surface at each of the corner portions so that the channel member extends axially and parallel with the clear slot. A bar is slidably received in each of the channel members. The bar includes a leveling screw capable of operation through the clear slot so that the plate is capable of vertical adjustment with respect to a pedestal support system.
Abstract:
A raised floor air grate panel adapted for a multi-vane damper and linkage assembly is provided. The air grate includes an upper and a lower surface and a support frame. The support frame is connected to the lower surface and includes reinforcement ribs, side walls on opposite sides of the support frame, and at least two downwardly projecting air-flow vanes. The air flow vanes define a generally rectangular air-flow control portion adapted to receive a multi-vane damper and linkage assembly so that the linkage is operable from the upper surface of the floor panel.
Abstract:
A cold aisle/hot aisle containment system for cooling computer servers on a raised floor in a data center is provided. The system includes a pedestal support system and a cold aisle is defined by at least one row of air-grate floor panels located between at least two banks of server racks. The floor panels including a perforated top plate with a support frame. The support frame includes reinforcing beam members and directional air flow vanes. Computer server cabinets include a cold air inlet, in a front cabinet panel, and a hot air exhaust, in a back cabinet panel. The server cabinets are mounted in the banks of server racks so that the front panels are facing each other on opposite sides of the cold aisle. An air flow damper door is adapted to cover at least a portion of at least one of the front or back cabinet panels so that damper blade members operate to direct a flow of cooling air through the cabinets.
Abstract:
A system and method for battery protection. In some aspects, a battery pack includes a housing, a cell supported by the housing, a circuit supported by the housing and operable to control a function of the battery pack, and a heat sink in heat transfer relationship with the circuit and operable to dissipate heat from the circuit.
Abstract:
A method and system for battery protection. In some aspects, a battery pack configured to be interfaced with a power tool includes a housing, a cell, a controller, and a circuit. The circuit is operable to enable the controller to operate when the voltage supplied by the cell to the controller is below an operating voltage threshold off the controller.
Abstract:
Power tools, nailers and strips of fasteners. In some aspects and in some constructions, the invention may provide a power tool including a housing, a deflector selectively movable relative to the housing between a first position, in which the deflector deflects fluid in a first direction, and a second position, in which the deflector deflects fluid in a second direction. In some aspects and in some constructions, the invention may provide a nailer including a magazine operable to support a strip of fasteners in an orientation therein, the magazine defining an insertion opening therein through which the strip of fasteners is insertable into the magazine, the insertion opening having a configuration, the strip of fasteners having a configuration complementary to the configuration of the insertion opening, the strip of fasteners insertable into the magazine only when the strip of fasteners is in the orientation.
Abstract:
A method of assembling a power tool, a power tool, a method of assembling an electrical device, and an electrical device includes a switched reluctance motor. The electrical device is preferably a hand-held power tool, however, any type of electrical device that includes a switched reluctance motor may benefit from any number of aspects of the invention. In one independent aspect, the invention provides a construction that reduces tolerance stack-up. In another independent aspect, the invention provides a self-contained electronics package that plugs into a switched reluctance motor to provide control operation of the switched reluctance motor. In another independent aspect, the invention provides enhanced cooling that increases the efficiency of the electrical device using a switched reluctance motor. In another independent aspect, the invention provides an encapsulated magnet that allows for contaminant free motor control over the life of the SR motor. In another independent aspect, the invention provides an apparatus and a method for aligning magnets of a magnet hub with respect to the rotor poles the magnet poles represent.
Abstract:
A system and method for battery protection. In some aspects, a method of conducting an operation including a battery pack, includes the acts of monitoring a first battery pack condition at a first monitoring rate, determining when a second battery pack condition reaches a threshold, after the second battery pack condition reaches the threshold, monitoring the first battery pack condition at a second monitoring rate, the second monitoring rate being different than the first monitoring rate. In some aspects, a method of conducting an operation including a battery, the battery including a cell having a voltage, power being transferable between the cell and the electrical device, a controller operable to control a function of the battery pack, the controller being operable with a voltage at least one of equal to and greater than an operating voltage threshold, the cell being operable to selectively supply voltage to the controller, includes the act of enabling the controller to operate when the voltage supplied by the cell is below the operating voltage threshold.
