Abstract:
A method (e.g., for increasing the efficiency of a mission) includes tracking, with an electronic locating device, movements of an operator while the operator is performing a sequential series of tasks in a first order to complete a mission, examining the movements of the operator and completion of the tasks in the first order with one or more computer processors to determine if the tasks can be completed in a more efficient order than the first order, determining a different, second order of the tasks that is more efficient than the first order in which the tasks were completed when the movements of the operator were tracked, and generating a presentation of the second order of the tasks for display on an electronic mobile device during another performance of the tasks.
Abstract:
A system and method for remotely supporting users includes receiving identification information of a potential problem with a remotely located equipment from a user and responding to receiving the identification information by providing a recommended work scope to the user. The recommended work scope includes a recommended series of actions to perform to at least one of repair or replace a component subsystem and an instructional representation for display on a mobile device. The first instructional representation both illustrates the series of actions to perform and includes at least one annotation to represent an alert to the user that is related to the action being illustrated. The first instructional representation includes images, videos, and/or a combination thereof that are displayed on the mobile device to guide the user through the recommended work scope.
Abstract:
A method includes calculating a labor shortfall for completion of a set of tasks within a designated time period. The labor shortfall represents a difference between a required workforce that is needed to complete the tasks and an amount of available workforce. The available workforce personnel are subject to workforce constraints on how long the workforce personnel can work. The method also includes visually presenting an indication of the labor shortfall and automatically generating communication signals for available workforce personnel and/or additional workforce personnel. The communication signals request additional work on the set of tasks by the at least one of the available workforce personnel or the additional workforce personnel in excess of the one or more workforce constraints.
Abstract:
A method for assisting operators performing tasks on assets includes remotely monitoring locations of mobile electronic devices associated with performance of tasks on one or more assets by the operators, remotely monitoring progress of completion of the tasks, and, based on at least one of the locations that are monitored or the progress of completion of the tasks, at least one of: altering an order in which the tasks are to be completed to reduce at least one of a completion time or completion cost of the tasks, communicatively coupling the mobile electronic devices with one or more expert personnel to assist the operators in completing the tasks, or generating a visual presentation on at least one of the mobile electronic devices that illustrates at least one of progress or problems with completion of the tasks.
