摘要:
Described herein is a method for electrostatic printing including: (i) providing an ink composition having: a hydrocarbon carrier liquid and particles includes a resin and a colorant, and wherein the ink composition contains less than 0.3 mg of charge director per g of solids in the ink composition; (ii) adding a charge director to the ink composition, such that the total amount of charge director in the ink composition is at least 0.6 mg per g of solids in the ink composition, and, (iii) within a predetermined time of adding the charge director, printing the ink onto a print medium in an electrostatic printing process, wherein the predetermined time is 90 minutes or less.
摘要:
A method includes moving a first end portion of a charging member with respect to a photoconductive member to obtain a first electrical discharge event corresponding to conduction of an electrical current from the charging member to the photoconductive member. The method also includes identifying a first adjustment value corresponding to a distance in which the first end portion moved toward the photoconductive member to obtain the first electrical discharge event. The method also includes moving a second end portion of the charging member with respect to the photoconductive member to obtain a second electrical discharge event corresponding to conduction of an electrical current from the charging member to the photoconductive member. The method also includes identifying a second adjustment value corresponding to a distance in which the second end portion moved toward the photoconductive member to obtain the second electrical discharge event.

摘要:
In one embodiment, an image developer includes a developer roller rotatable along a photoconductor for presenting a layer of ink to the photoconductor and a cleaner for cleaning ink from the developer roller. The cleaner includes a first cleaning roller rotatable along the developer roller for removing ink from the developer roller and a second cleaning roller rotatable against the first cleaning roller for mechanically removing ink from the first cleaning roller. In one embodiment, the second cleaning roller deforms against the first cleaning roller such that the cross-sectional length of contact between the first and second cleaning rollers is in the range of 20% to 38% of the circumference of the first cleaning roller. In one embodiment, the second cleaning roller has a density in the range of 90 kg/m3 to 150 kg/m3.
