Abstract:
A method for making an oxidized cellulose product from a cellulose material is disclosed. The method involves oxidizing a cellulose material into an oxidized cellulose product, comprising treating the cellulose material with a hypochlorite solution having an active chlorine content of between about 4 and about 6%, at a pH exceeding 9.5 and at a temperature, and for a time, effective to convert the cellulose material into the oxidized cellulose product; filtering the oxidized cellulose product; and washing the oxidized cellulose product with an antichlor agent such as sodium thiosulfate to remove chlorine and to raise the oxidized cellulose product to a neutral pH.The oxidized cellulose product may be used to form films, dispersions, gels, as carriers, for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other products.
Abstract:
Microfibrillated oxycellulose suitable for use as a carrier in agricultural, cosmetic, and topical and transdermal drug products, and as a binder and disintegrant in the making of tablets, is prepared by the oxidation of cellulosic materials with persulfate salts in water, with or without the presence of an aqueous inorganic acid, or in glacial or aqueous acetic acid.
Abstract:
A means and method for treating inflamed mucosal tissues topically with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) is described. The NSAID is incorporated into a substantive film forming aqueous based carrier system consisting of a water dispersible natural cellulosic polymer and an organic acid. The NSAID composition may further include a water soluble or water hydratable viscosity enhancing agent and/or a plasticizer. The NSAID topical composition is especially effective in treating pain associated with vulvodynia or vulvar vestibulitis.

Abstract:
A method and non-transitory computer readable medium for discovering network subnets are disclosed. For example, the method sets a host portion of a network address to a fixed value for a particular network, sends a discovery message to a subnet of a plurality of subnets having the fixed value of the host portion for the particular network, discovers the subnet if a response to the discovery message is received from a device and repeats the sending and the discovering until all of the plurality of subnets are checked, where the sending and the discovering are applied only to the fixed value of the host portion for each of the plurality of subnets.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel donor-acceptor fluorene compounds, which can be used as for the fabrication of electroluminescent devices, and a process of preparing said novel compounds. More particularly, the present invention relates to amine donor and nitrile/ester acceptor fluorenes, fluorenones their π-conjugated systems and related compounds, processes for preparing the said compounds including oxidation of fluorenes to corresponding fluorenones and their use in preparing organic electronic devices such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), photovoltaic/solar cell, Field effect transistors and other useful electroluminescent devices. The compounds are prepared by reacting 2H-pyran-2-ones in isolated or rigid conformations with cyclic ketones containing methylene carbonyl moiety in the presence of a base in an organic solvent. The present invention also relates to a new concept and approach to overcome the problem of ‘Green emission defect’ in 9-unsubstituted fluorene-based organic light emitting diodes which occurs due to the conversion of fluorenes to fluorenones that show emission mainly in green-yellow region. In the present invention we have placed donor-acceptor substituents in such a way that donor-acceptor fluorenones show emission in the blue region (instead of green-yellow region) thus improving the blue color purity and overcoming the problem of green emission defect.
Abstract:
A business object model, which reflects data that is used during a given business transaction, is utilized to generate interfaces. This business object model facilitates commercial transactions by providing consistent interfaces that are suitable for use across industries, across businesses, and across different departments within a business during a business transaction. In some operations, software creates, updates, or otherwise processes information related to a customer project expense list and a deviating tax calculation rule business object.
Abstract:
A system and a method are disclosed for identifying video files on a webpage and streaming video files to a client device. A server receives browsing data including uniform resource locator for a webpage and identifies missing videos on the webpage. The server identifies a source file for the missing videos including identifying a location for each missing video. The server retrieves a thumbnail for each missing video and provides it to a client device. Additionally, the server transcodes the video file responsive to a user input provided by a user. The transcoded video is streamed to the client device.
Abstract:
Provided are compositions and methods for diagnosis of celiac disease. The compositions include recombinant proteins that contain tissue transglutaminase and deamidated gliadin sequences. The gliadin sequences are repeated in the recombinant proteins. Also provided is a method for identifying an individual as having celiac disease based on the presence of antibodies in a sample from the individual, where the anti-bodies specifically recognize the recombinant protein, and identifying the individual as not having celiac disease based on an absence of antibodies that specifically recognize the recombinant protein.
