摘要: A fill cap for a drink container for receiving an open end of a drink bottle. The fill cap includes a cylindrical collar and an annular flange extending radially inwardly from the cylindrical collar. A valve structure is connected to and surrounded by the annular flange and in includes a pair of generally planar lip members. Each lip member has an outer portion adjoining the inner edge of the flange and the lip members converge at an angle axially downwardly to inner edges where the lip members adjoin each other at a slit. A pair of opposing side walls extend from the flange to edges of the lip members located axially downwardly from the flange. The slit is configured to receive the bottle neck therethrough.

摘要: A medical site cover for a needle-free intravenous connector having a septum area and external threads. The medical site cover includes an elastomeric cap having an opening to an inner cavity. The inner cavity includes a first chamber adapted for receiving and surrounding the connector and a second chamber located between the first chamber and a closed end of the cap. A compressible member formed of an absorbent material is located in the second chamber, wherein the compressible member is a sphere.

摘要: A nasal retention system for securing a nasal tube extending through a nose of a patient. The retention system includes a clip member includes an elongated body formed of a resilient material, and defines a thickness between first and second planar sides. An adhesive coating is provided on the first planar side, and a detachable film cover is applied over the adhesive coating. The elongated body is bendable about a minor axis parallel to a minor dimension of the elongated body to adhere a first portion of the first planar side to a second portion of the first planar side.

摘要: The present invention provides a medical coupling site which is adapted to be attached directly to a standard male luer lock fitting. The coupling site includes a valve element contained within a tubular housing. The housing is provided with a threaded portion for engaging the threaded locking collar of a male luer lock whereby the male luer lock will be held in positive mechanical locking engagement with the coupling site. The valve element is provided with rib members extending inwardly from an inner wall of the valve element toward a slit formed in a diaphragm such that the rib members act to bias the slit to a closed position. The housing includes a flange extending radially inwardly over the diaphragm and defining a diameter for frictionally engaging a male luer in locking engagement. In addition, an exposed surface of the diaphragm is formed with surface texturing to define a roughened surface. The roughened surface reduces the surface friction between the diaphragm and a male luer as the luer is inserted through the diaphragm.

摘要: A suction metering and mixing device is disclosed for collecting body fluids such as blood and simultaneously mixing an anticoagulant therewith. The device includes a suction passage having an inlet end and an opposite end for connection to a vacuum supply. A chamber is provided for controlling the flow of anticoagulant and includes a movable passage for conveying anticoagulant into the chamber and a diaphragm dividing the chamber into first and second portions wherein the movable passage may be moved from a position spaced from the diaphragm to a use position in contact with the diaphragm to prevent flow of anticoagulant into the first chamber portion. A fluid connection is provided between the suction passage and the second chamber portion whereby a vacuum may be supplied to the second chamber portion from the suciton passage and the diaphragm is drawn away from the movable passage to allow anticoagulant to flow into the first chamber portion. The anticoagulant then flows through a supply tube to a position adjacent to the inlet to the suction passage where it is mixed with blood entering the suction passage.

摘要: The present invention provides a valve assembly for allowing fluid flow in a first direction and for preventing fluid flow in a second, opposite direction including a valve housing having first and second ports opening into the housing. A flow regulator is positioned within the housing and includes an outer wall which is formed as a substantially cylindrical member. The regulator includes a pair of semi-circular valve lips which are oriented in converging relationship to each other to form an outlet slit at one end of the regulator. The valve lips are connected to the outer wall by a pair of concave connecting walls wherein the lips and connecting walls form a pair of cavities on either side of the outlet slit. A pair of elongated projections are located along diametrically opposing sides of the outer wall for biasing the outer wall inwardly whereby a biasing force is applied to close the lips.
