    摘要: Adjacent pixels of an infrared focal plane array (IR FPA) can be configured to have different spectral or polarization responses by adjustment of the lengths or orientations of the antenna arms which couple radiation into the sensors. The manufacturing costs of such an antenna-coupled IR FPA would be much less than integration of spectral or polarization filters onto each pixel, or fabrication of adjacent pixels with materials of different bandgaps. The antenna-coupled pixels can be made smaller than usual pixels, allowing this diversity of spectral or polarization information on the FPA without losing spatial resolution. The infrared (IR) sensors can be tunnel diodes, schottky diodes, photovoltaics, photoconductors, bolometers, and pyroelectrics. Application areas can include military and civilian remote sensing, automotive driving aids, industrial sensing, medical imaging, and general surveillance.

    摘要: A frame synchronizer for use in a receiver that receives an encoded signal from a transmitter includes a conjugation unit, a delay unit and multiplier coupled together to process the encoded signal. The multiplier multiplies either the received encoded signal by a conjugated, delayed version of the received encoded signal or multiplies a conjugated version of the received encoded signal by a delayed version of the received encoded signal to produce a first product signal. A further multiplier multiplies the first product signal with a locally-stored signal to generate a second product signal. An accumulator accumulates the second product signal over a plurality of bit times to generate an accumulated signal having a magnitude representing a time synchronization offset between the receiver and the transmitter and phase representing a frequency synchronization offset between the receiver and the transmitter. A synchronization correction unit generates a time offset correction and a frequency offset correction from the accumulated signal and these corrections are used to correct offsets between the receiver and the transmitter.

    摘要: Apparatus and method are disclosed for testing winding terminations and more particularly for testing armature winding termination continuity. A nonrotating, simultaneous test is made of the armature winding terminations to commutator bars by simultaneously applying equal currents to different sets of bar-to-bar winding terminations. The differences in the bar-to-bar voltages of selected pairs of bar-to-bar terminations are obtained and a determination is made as to whether any voltage difference exceeds a reference limit. If not, then an acceptable continuity test indication is given.

    摘要: A TV monitor includes an antenna coupler capable of selectively coupling the TV receiver being monitored to an antenna or an r.f. oscillator. The oscillator is selectively operated to impose an r.f. signal onto the antenna input of the receiver between successive horizontal blanking periods on an active video line. One probe, connected to the horizontal retrace circuit of the receiver monitors the receiver for an "on" or "off" condition. A second probe, connected to the kinescope circuits of the receiver, detects the channel to which the receiver is tuned. A third probe, connected to the vertical retrace circuitry, detects the vertical retrace signal to determine when the r.f. signal is to be imposed onto the receiver's antenna input. By successively stepping the r.f. oscillator through successive frequencies within the bandwidth of individual channels, and by monitoring the kinescope probe for that frequency which compares to that generated, channel identification may be determined. A plurality of individual monitors may be utilized with individual receivers within a household and the data may be collected and stored in a household collector for eventual transmission to a central station.

    摘要: A processing device includes a ROM having program instructions and at leas one jump instruction stored therein, a patch program for patching the program instructions in the ROM, a RAM capable of storing the patch program and a patch vector table that indicates the location of the patch program. A processor executes the program instructions in the program ROM and uses the patch vector table to execute the patch program when one of the jump instructions is reached. The patch program may be stored in the RAM and the patch vector table may point to the address in the RAM at which the patch program is stored so that the processor jumps directly to the RAM to execute the patch program when it reaches the one of the jump instructions. Likewise, a patch engine may be used to locate a specified patch program, load the specified patch program into the RAM and execute the specified patch program when the processor reaches the one of the jump instructions.
