    摘要: Provided is a liquid crystal display device, including: a data line; a plurality of pixel circuits; an output grayscale value generating circuit for outputting an output grayscale value obtained by correcting a display grayscale value indicating a grayscale potential having one of positive polarity and negative polarity; and a data-line driving circuit for selectively outputting an output potential having one of positive polarity and negative polarity corresponding to the output grayscale value to the data line. The data-line driving circuit outputs the potential so that the positive-polarity output potential corresponding to a smallest output grayscale value becomes lower than a positive-polarity grayscale potential indicated by a smallest one of the display grayscale values and that the negative-polarity output potential corresponding to the smallest output grayscale value becomes higher than a negative-polarity grayscale potential indicated by the smallest one of the display grayscale values.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device which includes one image signal line which is connected to a plurality of pixels, a scanning line drive part which outputs an ON voltage to the respective pixels in a predetermined order, and a data line drive part which outputs image signal voltages. The data line drive part outputs a gray level signal voltage corresponding to a gray level value of the pixel as an image signal voltage in a first period, and outputs a correction gray level signal voltage different from the gray level signal voltage as an image signal voltage in a second period which precedes the first period. The liquid crystal display device further includes a control part which generates the correction gray level signal voltage based on the gray level value of the pixel and one or plurarity of gray level values of pixels which precede the pixel in order.

The control circuit obtains the data line potentials such that a correction amount from a first potential to the data line potential when a tone potential in a frame which is displayed is the first potential and a tone potential in a frame right before the frame is a second potential, and a correction amount from the second potential to the data line potential when the tone potential of the frame which is displayed is the second potential and the tone potential of the frame right before the frame is the first potential differ from each other.

A control section (4) changes a relationship between the correction gradation signal voltage and the gradation signal voltage based on a combination of the gradation value of the pixel and a gradation value of a pixel preceding the pixel.

    摘要: Provided is a display device including: a control portion; a display panel including one or more pixel circuits and an image signal line connected to the pixel circuits; and an image signal line driving circuit. The control portion includes a difference acquiring circuit for acquiring difference data between a value of a gray-level potential, which is to be applied to one of the pixel circuits from the image signal line, and a value of a precharge potential based on the gray-level potential. The image signal line driving circuit calculates the precharge potential based on the value of the gray-level potential and the difference data, and supplies the image signal line with the precharge potential and the gray-level potential in sequence.

    摘要: High-order bits to be utilized for current-frame display data and previous-frame display data, and low-order bits to be utilized for the current-frame display data alone are stored in independently controllable memory areas. For reading the current-frame display data from a frame memory, data of the high-order bits and data of the low-order bits are read. For reading the previous-frame data, the high-order bits alone are read. Thus, since a period during which the data of the low-order bits that is not utilized for the previous-frame display data is stored in the memory is shortened, a required memory capacity can be reduced. The data transfer time can be reduced by the time required for memory read for the data of the low-order bits that is not utilized for the previous-frame display data.

    摘要: There is disclosed a display device which is driven by a two-field drive scheme. That is, brightness corresponding to one frame of image is obtained in two scans. The display screen is divided into plural regions. One of the regions is driven by a black insertion method. The other region is driven by a pseudo-normal drive method. In this method, an image based on the same display data is displayed twice. The display data is converted such that the gamma characteristics of the pseudo-normally driven region are substantially equal to the gamma characteristics of the region driven by the black insertion method. If necessary, each individual pixel in the boundary region between the region driven by the black insertion method and the region driven by the pseudo-normal drive method is displayed black or white. The boundary region has a width of at least two pixels.
