    Abstract: A cover song identification method implemented by a computing system comprises receiving, by a computing system and from a user device, harmonic pitch class profile (HPCP) information that specifies one or more HPCP features associated with target audio content. A major chord profile feature and a minor chord profile feature associated with the target audio content are derived from the HPCP features. Machine learning logic of the computing system determines, based on the major chord profile feature and the minor chord profile feature, a relatedness between the target audio content and each of a plurality of audio content items specified in records of a database. Each audio content item is associated with cover song information. Cover song information associated with an audio content item having a highest relatedness to the target audio content is communicated to the user device.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to improve detection of audio signatures. An example apparatus includes a TDOA determiner to determine a first time difference of arrival for a first audio sensor of a meter and a second audio sensor of the meter, and a second time difference of arrival for the first audio sensor and a third audio sensor of the meter, a TDOA matcher to determine a match by comparing the first time difference of arrival to a first virtual source time difference of arrival and a second virtual source time difference of arrival, responsive to determining that the first time difference of arrival matches the first virtual source time difference of arrival, identify a first virtual source location as the location of a media presentation device, and remove an audio recording of the second audio sensor to reduce a computational burden on the processor.

    Abstract: In an example context of identifying live audio, an audio processor machine accesses audio data that represents a query sound and creates a spectrogram from the audio data. Each segment of the spectrogram represents a different time slice in the query sound. For each time slice, the audio processor machine determines one or more dominant frequencies and an aggregate energy value that represents a combination of all the energy for that dominant frequency and its harmonics. The machine creates a harmonogram by representing these aggregate energy values at these dominant frequencies in each time slice. The harmonogram thus may represent the strongest harmonic components within the query sound. The machine can identify the query sound by comparing its harmonogram to other harmonograms of other sounds and may respond to a user's submission of the query sound by providing an identifier of the query sound to the user.
