摘要: A method for removing a vein includes making an incision through a skin layer of a patient, inserting a surgical instrument through the incision, visualizing the vein through the skin layer using a light source positioned subcutaneously and in proximity of the vein, and cutting the vein using the surgical instrument. The vein can be visualized by directing light from the light source at the vein from underneath the vein or from a side of the vein. A device for illuminating a body structure has a housing with a distal end configured for subcutaneous insertion into a patient's tissue and positioning in proximity of the body structure, a light path supported by the housing and configured for directing light at the body structure, and a fluid lane supported by the housing.

摘要: A filter and filter cleaning system wherein the filter is reusable after ultrasonic cleaning in a tank. The filter is disassembled, separating the filter element from the case. The filter element comprises a micromesh metallic filter core that traps contaminants within it during normal use. The micromesh core element is cleaned in a liquid bath while being exposed to ultrasonic vibrations that shake the contaminants from the mesh filter structure. The contaminants are washed from the mesh by the fluid bath as they are separated from the mesh structure. Once cleaned, the filter is reassembled and can be reused unlike typical paper care filters that must be discarded.

摘要: A method for vaporizing organic materials onto a substrate surface to form a film including providing a quantity of organic material into a vaporization apparatus and actively maintaining the organic material in a first heating region in the vaporization apparatus to be below the vaporization temperature. The method also includes heating a second heating region of the vaporization apparatus above the vaporization temperature of the organic material and metering, at a controlled rate, organic material from the first heating region into the second heating region so that a thin cross section of the organic material is heated at a desired rate-dependent vaporization temperature, whereby organic material vaporizes and forms a film on the substrate surface.
