Abstract:
A service car for storing and making available tools, accessories and the like comprises a travelling base. At least one column extends upwards from said travelling base. At least one platform is vertically movable along the column. A balancing gas spring is provided within the column. This balancing gas spring acts onto the platform opposite to the action of gravity.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for setting the feed rate of a fuel pump unit, which sucks up fuel from a fuel tank 8, as a function of the feed pressure, which is built up by the fuel pump unit, in an outlet 25 of the fuel pump unit, which outlet leads to an internal combustion engine. The fuel pump unit has a first pump stage and a second pump stage, the two pump stages being connected in parallel below a defined feed pressure in the outlet 25 of the fuel pump unit and being connected in series above the defined feed pressure.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wind-driven generating plant for utilizing the energy contained in land and sea winds with at least one blade rotatable about a rotation axis, which is arranged in oblique-angled manner to the horizontal and is optionally connected to a pylon arranged so as to rotate coaxially to the rotation axis of the blade or blades, whereby the hub thereof used for receiving the blade base with associated energy transmission means is connected to a supporting member. Each rotor blade is at an angle .beta. of approximately 40.degree. to 80.degree. to the rotation axis of the rotor, which is oriented at an angle .alpha. of approximately 30.degree. to 70.degree. to the horizontal. The supporting member is arranged on a frame so as to rotate about a vertical axis or at an axis arranged in oblique-angled manner to the vertical.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cooling system comprising an essentially flat evaporator consisting of individual evaporation plates (3a). Each evaporation plate comprises two high-grade steel plates (9 and 10) of different thicknesses, that are assembled by means of welding points (6) and welding seams (8). A channel (14) is formed between the high-grade steel plates (9 and 10), through which a coolant flows. Preferably, the evaporator forms part of the inner housing of a refrigerating appliance. The evaporator is produced by welding the plates (9 and 10) together. Compressed air is then blown between the plates (9 and 10), whereby the thinner of the two plates (9,10) is curved in such a way the channel (14) is created for the coolant.
Abstract:
In an illustrative example, an oscillation damper for damping the steering movement of the handle bar of a motorcycle comprises a cylinder and a piston rod axially movable with respect to the cylinder. A damping piston is provided at the inner end of the piston rod and divides the cavity within the cylinder into two working chambers. These working chambers are interconnected by at least one axial bore through the piston. Valve discs are provided on both axial end faces of the piston. These valve discs are fixed to the piston in their respective central areas. Circumferential areas of the valve discs define circumferential gaps with the respective end faces. In response to the velocity of axial relative movement of the piston rod with respect to the cylinder the circumferential areas of respective valve discs are approached to the respective end faces. So the damping resistance is increased.
Abstract:
A long stator motor, particularly for driving a magnetic levitation transport system, includes a stator iron, inside of which grooves for accommodating cable windings are provided. At least two cable windings are placed one above the other by running at least two cables inside each groove.
Abstract:
According to an illustrative example of this invention, a gas spring is incorporated into a tennis racket. This gas spring is connected with some of the strings such as to maintain a predetermined tension within the strings irrespective of possible elongation of the strings during operation.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fuel conveying unit comprising an electric motor and a return ring (8) that is made of plastic-bonded ferrite as a single piece along with magnetic shells (10). The magnetic shells (10) induce a magnetic flux that is closed by the return ring (8). The electric motor requires a particularly low number of parts that are to be assembled and can be produced inexpensively.

Abstract:
A side strut (5) for a lower steering arm of a tractor has a single-action hydraulic cylinder and a setting unit with a hollow cylinder (17) and an adjustable setting element 20. The setting element (20) includes a threaded bore (30) which receives a threaded rod (32). The hydraulic cylinder has a first attaching element (6) to connect to a tractor. The threaded rod (32) has a second attaching element (7) to connect a lower steering arm. In the fully moved-out position of the hydraulic cylinder, the setting element (20) is rotatable by an actuating lever (33). Thus, the threaded rod (32) moves in and out. To prevent any rotation, a first holding element (36) is provided. The actuating lever (33) engages the holding element in a rest position. A second holding element (37) is provided to ensure, in those cases where the hydraulic cylinder is in a position other than the fully moved-out position, that the actuating lever (33) is held to prohibit a rotational movement of the setting element (20) relative to the hollow cylinder. The rotational movement would effect a change in the length setting.
