Abstract: A device for forming spherical particles may include a receiving chamber having a heating portion and a cooling portion. Wire segments may travel in a free fall through the receiving chamber. While falling through the heating portion, wire segments may be heated to form spherical particles in response to exposure to microwave electromagnetic radiation. While falling through the cooling portion, formed spherical particles cool.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which is stored machine readable instructions. The processor may execute the instructions to access a first stereoscopic three-dimensional (3D) image of a surface of a layer of build material particles and a second stereoscopic 3D image of the layer surface, the second stereoscopic 3D image being captured at a later time than the first stereoscopic 3D image. The processor may also generate a 3D deformation map of the layer surface from the first stereoscopic 3D image and the second stereoscopic 3D image and may implement an action based on the generated 3D deformation map of the layer surface.

Abstract: According to examples, an apparatus may include an agent delivery device to deliver a coalescing agent to a selected location of a build material layer and a plurality of microwave energy emitters, each of which may include a tip to generate a focused microwave energy field onto a respective area near the tip. The apparatus may also include a controller that may control delivery of a first signal to a first microwave energy emitter of the plurality of microwave energy emitters; receive an energy feedback signal corresponding to energy reflected back into the first microwave energy emitter; determine, based on the received energy feedback signal, a power level of a second signal to be delivered to a microwave energy emitter of the plurality of microwave energy emitters; and control delivery of the second signal at the determined power level to the microwave energy emitter.

Abstract: Techniques for using a pin array to support a 3D printed object during sintering are disclosed. An example method includes adjusting pins of a pin array to provide support for a bottom surface of the 3D printed object, and placing the 3D printed object on the pin array. The method also includes placing the 3D printed object and pin array in a sintering oven, and heating the 3D printed object in the sintering oven to sinter the 3D printed object while being supported by the pin array.
