    Abstract: A printer may comprise a printhead comprising a number of nozzles, an immiscible fluid applicator, and a processor to instruct the immiscible fluid applicator to apply immiscible fluid onto the surface of the printhead to cap the number of nozzles. A printer subassembly may comprise an immiscible fluid applicator to wipe a layer of immiscible fluid onto a surface of a printhead. A printer may comprise a page wide array printhead, an immiscible fluid applicator to wipe a layer of immiscible fluid over a printhead to cap nozzles over the width of the printhead, and a controller to instruct the printhead to print after the layer of immiscible fluid has been applied over the printhead so that ink ejects through the immiscible fluid while non-used nozzles remain capped by the immiscible fluid layer.

    Abstract: In an example, a printhead-wiping device comprises: a wiper element and a biasing mechanism, the biasing mechanism to bias the wiper element towards a printhead. An actuator may be used to adjust a preload force applied to the biasing mechanism. The preload force applied to the biasing mechanism may be controlled using a controller so as to control a wiping force applied by the wiper element against the printhead.

    Abstract: A method of determining a delay value by an image forming system may include transporting a media along a media transport path by a media transport unit, heating the media by a heating unit, providing a plurality of print passes across the media transport path by a print head assembly, and applying ink to the media to form an image including a plurality of swaths by the print head assembly such that a respective swath is formed on the media corresponding to a respective print pass. The method may also include detecting a temperature of the media by a temperature module to determine whether the detected temperature is outside of a target temperature range, and determining a delay value by a delay determination module in response to a determination that the detected temperature is outside of the target temperature range.

    Abstract: A method to control a printer carriage in which the printer carriage is controlled to move along a first axis at a first predetermined speed when a printhead, installed on the printer carriage, is ejecting printing fluid in a print zone. The printer carriage is moveable bidirectionally along the first axis in swaths to enable the printhead to print in the print zone. The printer carriage is also controlled to move along the first axis at a second predetermined speed, higher than the first predetermined speed, when the printhead is not ejecting printing fluid in the print zone.
