摘要: A power generation cell includes a frame member. The frame member includes a first frame shaped sheet and a second frame shaped sheet that are joined together. The second frame shaped sheet is provided outside a cathode through a gap. A method of operating a fuel cell includes supplying a first reactant gas to a channel formed between the frame member and a first separator, a pressure of the first reactant gas being higher than a pressure of a second reactant gas, and supplying the second reactant gas to a channel formed between the frame member and a second separator.

摘要: A unit cell that constitutes a fuel cell stack is obtained by sandwiching an electrolyte mem-brane/electrode structure with a cathode-side separator and an anode-side separator. A first resin member is provided along the entire periphery of the cathode-side separator in the outer peripheral portion of the cathode-side separator. Surfaces of the cathode-side separator are provided with sealing parts that cover a part of the first resin member and constitute a first sealing member.

摘要: A thermosetting adhesive sheet 10 for sealing the periphery of a membrane electrode assembly, which is composed of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane and electrodes placed on both sides of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane contains an adhesive layer 14. The adhesive layer 14 is formed of a cured product of an adhesive composition containing a polyurethane resin having a reactive functional group and a cross-linking agent, where the adhesive layer 14 has a gel fraction of 60 mass % or higher, a storage elastic modulus at 100° C. (G′100) of 5.0×104 Pa or higher and 1.0×108 Pa or lower, and a decreasing rate of a storage elastic modulus at 120° C. (G′120) to the storage elastic modulus at 100° C. (G′100) of 0.5 or less.

摘要: First, a passive film is removed from a surface of a separator sheet. For example, the separator sheet may be immersed in an acidic liquid to remove the passive film. Then, the separator sheet is washed with water, taken out from the water, and heated. After the heating, the separator sheet is subjected to an electrolytic treatment to obtain a separator for a fuel cell. The resultant separator has a seal forming portion, and the outermost surface of the seal forming portion contains, based on 100% by weight of the total of a Cr oxide, an Mo oxide, an Fe oxide, Fe, and Ni, 5% by weight or less of the sum of the Fe and Ni and 60% by weight or more of the Cr oxide.

In the power generation cell, the relationship of P1>P2>P3 is satisfied, where P1 indicates a first surface pressure applied from a first seal part and a second seal part to a resin frame member, P2 indicates a second surface pressure applied from a first support part and a second support part to the overlap part, and P3 indicates a third surface pressure applied from first flow field forming protrusions and second flow field forming protrusions to the power generation area.
