Abstract:
Methods and systems for operating a vehicular near-to-eye (NTE) display screen operable within an operational range limit are provided. An image is rendering on the NTE display screen within a predefined visibility range. The predefined visibility range is within the operational range limit. A luminance of at least a portion of the image is reduced in response to the NTE display screen being moved outside of the predefined visibility range and within the operational range limit.
Abstract:
A system and method for controlling a proximity display system by providing the ability to rapidly blank and un-blank the display is provided. The system and method enable modifying, blanking and un-blanking in response to the detected location of the viewer's eye. The system and method optionally provide the viewer with cueing information that directs the viewer's eye toward the eyebox in response to detecting that the viewer's eye is out of the eyebox.
Abstract:
A variable focus stereoscopic display system includes first and second lenses positioned between a viewer's eyes and a stereoscopic display that alters the distance to the focus plane of the viewer based on the vergence of the viewer's eyes while viewing the stereoscopic display.
