    Abstract: The embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a small data transmission method and a related device and system. The method may include: broadcasting, by a base station, a paging message, where the paging message carries UE identifiers of a plurality of to-be-paged user equipment UE and small data sent to at least one of the to-be-paged UEs, and the small data is data whose data volume is less than a preset data volume threshold. In the present disclosure, small data may be sent to to-be-paged UE while the base station pages the UE, to reduce signaling and time overheads for sending the small data and improving communication efficiency.

    Abstract: This application relates to the communications field, and in particular, to a data transmission method, an apparatus, and a system. In the data transmission method, a base station determines a transmission policy, where the transmission policy is used for contention-based uplink data transmission or non-contention based uplink data transmission; and sends the transmission policy to a terminal. The terminal receives the transmission policy sent by the base station, and sends uplink data to the base station based on the transmission policy. With a solution in this application, the base station can determine an appropriate transmission policy based on a network status, and send the transmission policy to the terminal, and the terminal can use, based on the transmission policy, an appropriate transmission mode to send uplink data to the base station, so that transmission efficiency is improved.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to communications technologies, and provide a data transmission method and an apparatus. The method includes: sending, by a base station, a grouping instruction to a target terminal, where the grouping instruction is used to group, in a preset grouping manner, terminals in a cell in which the target terminal is located into N groups, totally or partially different resources are allocated to terminals in different groups of the N groups, and a resource corresponding to an ith group of the N groups is used by a terminal in the ith group in uplink non-scheduled transmission; and receiving data that is sent by the target terminal using a target resource. In the solutions, terminals in a cell are grouped, and terminals in a same group contend for a resource allocated to the group. This mitigates resource collision when an uplink non-scheduled transmission solution is used.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides an uplink data packet transmission method. The method includes: determining, by a terminal device, a CP length of a first uplink data frame; if the terminal device is in a state of out of uplink synchronization with a base station and in an RRC connected state, or is in an RRC idle state, generating the first uplink data frame for an uplink data packet according to the CP length and sending the first uplink data frame to the base station. The CP length is greater than a CP length of an uplink data frame sent by a terminal device that is in a state of uplink synchronization and in an RRC connected state. Therefore, signaling procedures such as random access and uplink synchronization can be omitted, so that the terminal device can directly send the uplink data packet by performing signaling exchange once.

    Abstract: Example communication methods and apparatus that are applied to discrete narrowband communication information are described. One example communication method includes sending first indication information to a terminal by a network device. The first indication information includes a frequency channel number of a start sub-band in all discrete sub-bands of a serving cell in which the terminal is currently located, a bitmap representing whether each sub-band in a frequency band belongs to the serving cell, and a frequency spacing between sub-bands in the frequency band. The frequency band is a frequency band to which all the discrete sub-bands of the serving cell belong. The network device sends second indication information to the terminal, wherein the second indication information is used to indicate a sub-band available to the terminal in all the discrete sub-bands of the serving cell.

    Abstract: In a data transmission method, a terminal can determine, based on the transmission resource occupation status information broadcast by the base station, the transmission resource unit used to send the first data packet. This avoids a problem in a non-scheduled solution that a terminal does not know transmission resource occupation status information, and sends a first data packet by using a transmission resource unit that cannot be used to transmit a data packet; and reduces a latency for sending a data packet.
