    摘要: Provided is a computer system including: a plurality of storage systems interconnected via a network, each storage system including a logical volume that stores data; and a management computer that is connected to the storage systems via the network and includes a port connected to the network and a processor connected to the port, wherein: a logical volume of a transfer source in a storage system of the data transfer source and a logical volume of a transfer destination in a storage system of the data transfer destination are decided; it is determined whether it is necessary or not to migrate a license of a program used for the logical volume of the transfer source from one of the plurality of storage systems to the storage system of the transfer destination; and when it is determined necessary to migrate the license, license information regarding the license to the storage system of the transfer destination is migrated. Accordingly, costs of purchasing licenses necessary during data migration or the like are reduced.

    摘要: This invention provides, when optimizing a configuration of a storage system using a pool, an optimal configuration while ensuring a policy set by an administrator, the policy concerning a power saving performance, a response performance, or the like. The management computer sets, according to the set policy, priorities to volumes held by a storage subsystem, and reserves volumes satisfying the capacity of the pool, in descending order of the priority. Only some of the reserved volumes are registered for the pool in descending order of the priority. At this time, it can be guaranteed that a host computer makes no access to the volumes which have not been registered for the pool, and therefore the sleep state is set to physical drives forming the volumes or to a controller controlling the physical drives.

    摘要: This invention provides, when optimizing a configuration of a storage system using a pool, an optimal configuration while ensuring a policy set by an administrator, the policy concerning a power saving performance, a response performance, or the like. The management computer sets, according to the set policy, priorities to volumes held by a storage subsystem, and reserves volumes satisfying the capacity of the pool, in descending order of the priority. Only some of the reserved volumes are registered for the pool in descending order of the priority. At this time, it can be guaranteed that a host computer makes no access to the volumes which have not been registered for the pool, and therefore the sleep state is set to physical drives forming the volumes or to a controller controlling the physical drives.

The first data storage unit has a temporary storage area which is prepared in advance for the purpose of being provided to a host computer. Prior to completion of a process of creating a normal storage area within a second data storage unit in response to a storage area allocation request, the temporary storage area is associated with access point information for specifying access point in response to the allocation request. The access point information is to be used by the host computer to access the normal storage area. Then prior to completion of the normal storage area creation process, an access by an access request including the access point information from the host computer is relayed to the temporary storage area associated with the access point information.
