    摘要: A female terminal fitting for a connector comprises: a cylindrical insertion portion whose front and is opened; and a resilient contact piece is disposed within the cylindrical insertion portion. The resilient contact piece includes: a first fold being formed by extending an extending end portion from a wall portion of the cylindrical insertion portion and folding the extending end portion back into a hollow of the cylindrical insertion portion, the first fold being given resiliency; a second fold being formed by further folding the extending end portion inward, the second fold being given resiliency; and a stopper for regulating an amount of flexion of the resilient contact piece, the stopper being formed by bending the extending end portion of the second fold so as to confront a back surface between the first fold and the second fold. A male terminal fitting is retained in pressure contact with the resilient contact piece by inserting the male terminal fitting into the cylindrical insertion portion.

    摘要: A connector has a housing (2) with cavities (4) for accommodating both crimping and insulation-displacement terminal fittings (5, 6). Locks (15) extend into the cavities (4) to elastically engage the terminal fittings (5, 6). A retainer mount opening (17) extends through an outer wall of the housing (2) and communicates with the cavities (4), and a retainer (3) is mounted in the opening (17) for doubly locking the terminal fittings (5, 6). Connecting portions (8) of the same shape are provided at the front of the terminal fittings (5, 6). The height of insulation-displacement portions (7) is shorter than that of the connecting portion (8) in the insulation-displacement terminal fitting (5), and terminal locks (18) of the retainer (3) engage with steps (8A) at the rear of the connecting portions (8). The retainer (3) can be pushed to a full locking position after the terminal fittings (5, 6) are mounted with the housing (2) to redundantly lock the terminal fittings (5, 6) in the cavities (4).

V-shaped cutting edges (21) of the blades (19) have different angles of inclination (&agr;, &bgr;) when viewed in the longitudinal direction of a wire (16). Thus, the cutting edges (21) contact a resin coating (16A) of the wire (16) at different timings while the wire (16) is being pushed in. The blades (19) of each blade portion (17) do not simultaneously come into contact with the resin coating (16A). Thus, a resistance during cutting can be small.

    摘要: A high voltage post terminal is accurately located within a support aperture during manufacturing processes by at least one inwardly directed projection to avoid assembly problems caused by sizing the entire aperture itself to locate the terminal with sufficient accuracy. By thus improving the concentricity of the high voltage coil components it is possible to achieve more reliable insulation between components at even relatively small-sized coils used for individual engine plug holes. An especially advantageous range of critical parameters has been discovered as achievable by using this more reliable manufacturing process.

    摘要: A waterproofed connector has an outlet for an electrical cable which is molded by a resin material under a structure which can prevent a mold resin material from entering into terminal metal fixtures. The waterproofed connector includes a connector housing (10) having a cavity (12), terminal metal fixtures (40) each connected to an end of each core wire (22) of an electrical cable (20) and inserted into a terminal opening (131) in the cavity (12), a plug body (50) inserted into the cavity (12) and having a pair of through holes (53) for permitting each core wire (22) to pass through and a mold resin layer (100) formed around a rear end of the connector housing (10). The plug body (50) made of a resilient material contacts firmly with an interior of the opening (131), so that the plug body (50) can prevent the mold resin material from entering into the terminal metal fixtures when molding and also can perform waterproofing even if any clearance is formed between the mold resin layer (100) and the electrical cables (22). The plug body (50) and an accommodating chamber in the cavity (12) may be provided with tapered exterior and interior, respectively, thereby causing a close contact between the plug body (50) and the connector housing (10) by an injection pressure of a mold resin material. The plug body and accommodating chamber may not be provided with the tapered exterior and interior. A waterproofing seal (30) may be mounted on each terminal metal fixture (40) through the opening (131) in the cavity (12) so that the seal (30) makes close contact with the interior of the cavity (12). Even if any clearance may be formed between the mold resin layer (100) and the electrical cables (22) or the connector housing (10), the water which enters into the cavity (12) through the clearance is prevented from further advancing in the cavity by the waterproofing seal (30).

    摘要: A connector inspecting device that positively determines whether a metal terminal has been correctly inserted into the housing of the connector includes a slider provided in a checker housing in such a manner that it is movable and urged toward a connector by a compression spring. The slider includes a lance check pin protruded toward the connector and an electrical contactor that is integral with the lance check pin. When the connector is at a "normal position," the lance check pin goes in a lance bending space provided for a lance, so that the electrical contactor is electrically connected to the metal terminal. In the case where the metal terminal is set at a "half insertion position," the lance check pin abuts against the lance, which prevents the contact of the electrical contactor with the metal terminal.
