摘要: To enable easy replacement of a soiled fingerprint reading window. To reduce the number of light sources and achieve miniaturization. An aperture 5 is formed in part of a case K constituting the outer shell of a fingerprint recognition device, aperture 5 being covered by a cover member 4. Cover member 4 that covers aperture 5 constitutes part of case K. An aperture 6 formed in cover member 4 is covered by a window member 7 for fingerprint reading consisting of an optically transparent member. Window member 7 is arranged on the under-surface of cover member 4 and is resiliently held by the holding feet 11 formed on cover member 4. Light source 42, light-guide plate 43, reflection mirrors 33 and 34, image pick-up lens 35 and image pick-up element 36 are held by holding body H which is fixedly arranged in case K. Window member 7 is clamped between supporting faces 38 of holding body H and cover member 4 so as to be immovable. Light-guide plate 43 is arranged adjacent and inclined with respect to window member 7. Detection light rays from light-emitting elements 42 are sufficiently diffused while passing through light-guide plate 43 and are emitted in planar fashion from light-guide plate 43 towards window member 7.

摘要: A UPS monitoring part monitors a state of a UPS, on the basis of an information which was transmitted from the UPS which was connected to an information processing apparatus, and received by a UPS communication part. A UPS control part, on the basis of a result of that monitoring, generates a control information for individually controlling respective states of a plurality of electric power output parts of the UPS, in accordance with a condition of power-off of each load which was connected to the corresponding electric power output part, and carries out a control for transmitting it from the UPS communication part to the UPS.

摘要: Based on information that is transmitted to a UPS communication part by UPSs connected to an information processing apparatus, a UPS monitoring part monitors the states of the UPSs. A UPS control part employs the monitoring results to generate control information for controlling the state of at least one of the UPSs, and permits the UPS communication part to transmit the control information to the UPS that is to be controlled. The present invention can be applied for a computer having a redundant power supply function.

摘要: A red LED which emits red light and a green LED which emits green light are provided as light sources to emit detection beams onto a fingerprint collation surface. With a finger tip pressed against the fingerprint collation surface, only the red LED is enabled to emit light and reflected light from that surface at this time is input to an image pickup unit, thereby providing a first image. Likewise, only the green LED is enabled to emit light, thereby providing a second image. A difference between intensity levels of reflected light according to the undulations of the fingerprint is determined as a first differential contrast for the first image or second differential contrast for the second image. When the absolute value of a difference between the two differential contrasts is greater than a threshold value, the finger tip is determined as a genuine living finger tip.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a cable connection system is provided. The connection system includes a cable termination coupled to the end of a cable. The cable termination includes a body and two substantially circular pivots, and a cable input in the body of the cable termination for receiving the cable. The cable termination is designed to fit rotatable into a device having a mating housing. The device includes a groove on both sides of the mating housing, for fitting the cable in either direction, such that the cable termination may be rotated into the mating housing in either direction.
