摘要: Polypropylene wax having a) a dropping or softening point determined by the ring/ball method of greater than 155° C., b) heats of fusion greater than 80 J/g and c) a DSC melting point of >155° C. The waxes of the invention are prepared by reaction of propylene with metallocene compounds at temperatures in the range from 40 to 140° C. and an olefin partial pressure in the range from 1 to 50 bar in the presence of a cocatalyst. They have a content of unsaturated chain ends of less than 10%. They can, for example, be modified by means of a free-radical grafting reaction with polar monomers and are, for example, suitable in unmodified form as dispersants for pigments, as additive in printing inks and surface coatings or toners or in modified form for producing aqueous dispersions or as bonding agents and compatibilizers in plastic compounds.

摘要: The present invention relates to homopolymer and copolymer waxes which have been prepared by polymerization using metallocene compounds in the presence of hydrogen and have a melt viscosity of less than 100 mPas, measured at 170.degree. C.As a result of their high thermal stability, these waxes display neither discoloration nor crosslinking reactions and are very well suited for use in toners, for plastics processing, for masterbatches, for printing inks, surface coatings and melt adhesives.

摘要: A catalyst formed by the reaction of a magnesium alkoxide dispersion having a particle size of from 100 to 3000 nm with a compound of a metal selected from the group comprising titanium, zirconium, vanadium and chromium and then with a chlorine-containing organoaluminum compound possesses a very good hydrogen responsiveness and a high activity even in the presence of molecular-weight regulators such as hydrogen. The catalyst is therefore outstandingly suitable for the production of low molecular-weight polyolefins. The catalyst makes possible the production of waxes having a reduced residual ash content. The large particle diameter and the low fines content of the polymer powder produced by suspension polymerization with this catalyst enables easy removal of the suspension medium and drying. The catalyst is furthermore advantageously used in solution polymerization and, because of the large particle diameter, in gas phase polymerization for producing low molecular-weight poly-1-olefins.
