The invention is directed to a pruning apparatus having a drive motor which is mounted on a carrier adapted for mounting on the back of an operator. The drive motor is connected with a rotating cutting tool by means of a flexible shaft. The flexible shaft includes an output member and a drive member. The output member is connected to a drive motor and is contained in a connecting tube. The output member is connected via a coupling unit to the drive member which is disposed in a guide tube. The guide tube carries the rotating cutting tool which produces a smooth cut so that the formation of fungus at the cut is completely eliminated. A cover plate is affixed to the guide tube so as to be adjacent to the cutting tool and has an outer diameter smaller than the cutting circle defined by the tip of the rotating cutting tool. While operating the apparatus, the stationary cover plate, unlike the rotating cutting tool, remains clearly visible thereby facilitating a precise cutting operation.

The system comprises a first collapsible container for receiving the fluid to be filtered and a second collapsible container for receiving the filtered fluid, both containers interconnected by a fluid line, in which a filter and a third container, for deaeration, are located. The first collapsible container contains a predetermined quantity of air, which is sufficient to ensure that no blood remains in the filter and the adjacent tube line sections when the whole blood is transferred from the first container into the second container. The air that is present in the second container, after the whole blood has been filtered, is transferred to the deaeration container.

The eccentric gear arrangement includes two shearing blades (2, 3) driven in mutually opposite directions over a displacement path (a). Each shearing blade has a connecting link (4, 5) as well as an eccentric wheel (6) having a drive wheel (7) and two eccentrics (8, 9). The eccentric wheel (6) rotates about a rotational axis (10). The two connecting links (4, 5) lie directly above one another. The two eccentrics (8, 9) are arranged on the same side of the drive wheel (7) and engage each in one of the two connecting links (4, 5). The two shearing blades (2, 3) have contact pressure surfaces (11, 12) in the region of their two connecting links (4, 5) and are offset with respect to each other in such a manner that they are exposed at least over a portion of the displacement path (a).
