    Abstract: A system and method for splitting a fluid into fluid products with a component count within a designated component count range and volume within a designated volume range. The method includes measuring an initial component concentration of a source container, weighing a source container to determine the volume of fluid, calculating the final component count and final volume for each of the source and at least one satellite container, calculating the amount of component additive solution to add the source container and flowing the amount of component additive solution from a component additive solution container into the source container, and splitting the fluid so that each divided fluid amount has a final component count within a designated component count range and a final volume within a designated volume range.

    Abstract: A method (and a system for implementing such method) for creating a plurality of fluid products each having a minimum content of a fluid component includes providing a plurality of intermediate fluid volumes each having a known content of a fluid component. The intermediate fluid volumes are grouped by fluid component content, followed by a determination of whether two of the intermediate fluid volumes may be pooled to achieve the minimum content for a final fluid product. The method proceeds with creating combinations of three and then more intermediate fluid volumes achieving the minimum content for a final fluid product, followed by creating combinations of intermediate fluid volumes exceeding the minimum content. Each intermediate fluid volume is assigned to only one of the combinations, with the intermediate fluid volumes being assigned to the combinations so as to maximize the number of combinations and, thus, the number of final fluid products.

    Abstract: Provided are a blood bag system and a blood treatment method capable of securely and efficiently obtaining a medium specific gravity blood component having a sufficiently low content rate of a light specific gravity blood component.
    In a blood bag system (10) used for a blood treatment method, in a transfer completed state in which whole blood in a first bag (12) is centrifuged to transfer blood plasma to a second bag (14) through a first transfer tube (24) and transfer red cell concentrates to a third bag (16) through a second transfer tube (26), a buffy coat is left in the first bag (12). In the transfer completed state, when a platelet added solution is transferred from a fourth bag (18) to the first bag (12) on which a centrifugal force acts through a third transfer tube (28), blood plasma in the buffy coat is discharged from the first bag (12).

    Abstract: A method to divide liposuction fat into aliquots for use and cryopreservation purposes, the method comprising: providing a taking container that contains adipose material removed by liposuction, the adipose material including fat and aqueous fluid; providing a plurality of cryopreservation containers; taking a quantity of the adipose material from the taking container, keeping the quantity of the adipose material isolated from an external environment; separating by gravity the fat from the aqueous fluid in the adipose material of the taken quantity; and transferring the separated fat into one or more cryopreservation containers, to define isolated aliquots of fat.
