摘要: PCT No. PCT/US79/00224 Sec. 371 Date April 10, 1979 Sec. 102(e) Date April 10, 1979, PCT Filed April 10, 1979. An apparatus (10, 212) for mixing a gas and a liquid is disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of a hollow outer housing (22) and a hollow inner tube (24) received for rotary motion within the outer housing (22). A motor (61) is attached to the outer housing (22) adjacent a first end thereof and is drivingly coupled to a first end of the inner tube (24). The inner tube (24) has a support tube (214) which extends beyond the second end of the outer housing (22). Propeller blades (216) are attached to the support tube (214) for rotation therewith. An inlet (82) is formed in the inner tube (24) for admitting a gas to the hollow interior of the inner tube (24). The support tube (214) has a diffusion section (222) that extends below the propeller blades (216).The propeller mechanism (210), which includes the support tube (214) and the blades (216), is designed to increase the oxygen transfer efficiency of the apparatus (10, 212) over that provided by a standard marine propeller (48). Each propeller blade (216) has an impelling surface (232) with a varying rake which changes to a more positive rake from a leading end (226) to a tail end (228) of each propeller blade (216). Plates (238, 240, 242) are attached to the air outlet end (224) of the support tube (214). Lower portions (250) of the plates (240, 242) are bent backward in the direction in which the propeller mechanism (210) is to be rotated.

摘要: An improved structure for supporting a rotating shaft (22) in a liquid environment is disclosed. The bearing structure (28) has an inner support surface or smooth face (38) inwardly disposed and circumferentially engaging the rotating shaft (22). The smooth face (38) has a spiraling channel (46) formed therein, and the channel (46) extends from a first axial end of the bearing (28) which is open to the liquid environment, through some axial portion of the bearing (28) to introduce ambient liquid to lubricate the interface between the bearing (28) and that portion of the shaft (22) which it engages.

摘要: A fluid pressure servo detent mechanism for controlling movement of a piston within a cylinder including one-way inlet and outlet valves for controlling the fluid pressure within the cylinder with linkage means interconnecting the inlet and outlet valves and the moveable piston for simultaneously actuation thereof. A control or sensing rod is carried by the piston for movement therewith to provide a control element for articles to be controlled or to sense the position of the piston and the flow of fluid or receipt of pressure to the outlet may be utilized to determine the position of the piston and as a signal to additional equipment.

摘要: A piston-cylinder combination having a piston arranged for reciprocating movement within a cylinder under fluid pressure, the fluid pressure being ultimately delivered to the sides of the piston with a connector rod from the piston controlling the movement of valves for the delivery of fluid to the piston. The fluid valves are alternatively exposed to fluid under pressure to insure proper opening and closure thereof. The valving combination from the alternate sides of the piston eliminates chattering or floating of the piston, particularly when the piston is under a "no load" condition.

摘要: A hydraulic valving mechanism for controlling an object in a normally level position such that upon a shifting of the same from level an actuating mechanism is driven to return the object to the desired level, such valving mechanism including a valve housing with control ports therein with a gravity responsive member therein to open and close selected ones of the ports depending upon the direction the same is shifted from level with the ports being interconnected to a main control valve for shifting of the same to direct fluid to the proper side of the actuating mechanism to return the object to its normal, level position.
