摘要:
A method for the production of form coke, such as coke for use in the smelting industry as blast furnace coke and also in electro-metallurgical facilities, comprising, coking a high volatile coal containing at least 35% volatile constituents so as to remove the volatile constituents to form a non-baking base coal, mixing a plurality of fine grain coal components together, of which at least one of the components comprises said non-baking base coal and at least one other component comprises a baking bituminous coal so as to form a mixture of such coals, subjecting the mixture to a degassing operation using highly volatile coals, coking the degassed mixture and pressing the coke into briquettes.

A method of producing hot briquettes in a plurality of stages comprises heating inert components which do not soften by direct heat exchange with hot carrier gases which are generated in a combustor to a temperature of about from 550.degree. to 700.degree. C. Thereafter the heated inert components and the gases are directed to a first separator to separate the carrier gases from the heated inert components. A caking bituminous binder coal component is then preheated and dried to temperatures of either 60.degree. over or under 300.degree. C. with the separated carrier gas. The binder coal and the separated carrier gas is then directed to a second separator to provide a second separated carrier gas and the heated binder coal. The second heated carrier gas is directed into a third separator in direct heat exchange with a second inert component which is then heated by this to a temperature of from 350.degree. to 600.degree. C. The second inert component is then separated from the second separator carrier gas and directed back for heat exchange with the hot carrier gases in the first separator, both the inert components which are separated and the binder coal are then directed into a mixer for premixing and then subsequently into a roll press for forming them into briquettes.

Briquettes made from bituminous or sub-bituminous coal or peat are produced by grinding the coal, mixing it with a binder and compacting the mixture. They are then carbonized in a continuous process in a shaft oven. The coal may be predried and the finished briquettes may be preheated, with a subsequent drying and hardening. The carbonization is effected in two stages in an indirectly heated shaft oven, with the evolved gas being taken off about at the mid-height of the oven shaft, processed, and used for heating in the second, high-temperature stage. The flue gases from this high-temperature stage are used for heating in the first stage and for preheating. The second or high-temperature stage is followed by a cooling stage where the gases evolved in the second stage, and mainly comprising hydrogen are used and circulated. The evolved gas in excess is continuously removed from the cooling circuit.

A coke cooler and method of operating the cooler is disclosed for dry cooling hot glowing coke through the recovery of the sensible heat of the hot glowing coke. The apparatus includes a vertically elongated vessel having walls partially formed with integral heat exchange tubes for the passage of a liquid coolant and a shroud having an internal prechamber mounted in the upper end of the vessel for receiving a charge of the hot glowing coke. The shroud cooperates with the vessel to provide a annular passage for fluid flow therebetween of a gas which directly contacts the hot glowing coke for direct cooling while liquid coolant is passed through the tubes for indirectly cooling the coke.

The process for the production of molded metallurgical coke from dried coal or fine coal mixtures with a low swelling index particularly highly volatile fine coal comprises mixing normal washed fine coal or fine coal mixtures of a grain size of from 0 to 10 mm and a swelling index of not more than 5 with a binder, pressing the mixture into briquettes, oxidizing the briquettes in a continuous material flow stream, and coking the oxidized briquettes continuously in an oven chamber by supplying indirectly and exhausting the coke oven gases with a temperature of 300.degree. to 1200.degree. C. The device for carrying out the process includes a vertically extending reactor housing having an oxidation chamber adjacent the top thereof with an indirectly heated vertical coking chamber directly below the oxidation chamber and with a cooling chamber directly below the coking chamber and including means for circulating heating gases into the coking chamber and then upwardly through the coking chamber and out adjacent the top of the coking chamber and into the oxidation chamber.

A method for the dry cooling of coke comprises transferring the coke from the coke oven to a special bucket which is moved over a charging hole of a cooling pit. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is closed off and sealed against the atmosphere and a shutter which closes the top of the charging hole is moved upwardly and then transversely off the charging hole to open it as an intermediate charging guide piece is moved in position between the hole and the bucket for the transfer of the coke therebetween. The space between the bucket and the charging hole is sealed by a frame of a sluicing device in which the shutter and the intermediate charging hole guidepiece is movable. The device advantageously runs on wheels which are located outside the frame which seals the space between the charging bucket and the charging pit. The frame of the sluicing device advantageously includes a sealing element which engages into a recess seal combined around the charging hole.

A method and apparatus is disclosed for indirectly drying and preheating fine material, in particular, moisture containing coal or the like, comprises, providing a rotary drum which is mounted for rotation and has a plurality of heating tubes extending therethrough, supplying heated cooling gas from a dry coke cooling system to the heating tubes, supplying the moist material to the drum, adjacent the bottom thereof, removing the material from the drum after it has been predried and preheated, and returning or recycling a portion of the predried and preheated material to the rotary drum. The method and apparatus utilizes the heated cooling gas used to cool dry coke in a dry coke cooling plant from high temperatures to below 200.degree. C. It has been found that such heated cooling gas for a selected amount of dry coke is useful either in a series of more than one rotary drum or, to process moist material in a single drum and also generate steam as a byproduct.

A three-cycle process as disclosed for drying and preheating coking coal using the heat from cooled coke. Cooling gas is passed over hot coke to heat the cooling gas and cool the coke. The heated cooling gas is then passed through a waste heat boiler and then back to the hot coke in a coke cooling chamber. This completes the first closed cycle. Water is supplied to the waste heat boiler to form steam. The steam is supplied to a fluidized bed of wet coal to indirectly preheat and dry the wet coal in a second cycle. The wet coal is fluidized using fluidizing gas which converts water in the wet coal into steam. Some of the steam is condensed from the combination of fluidizing gas plus steam and then the fluidizing gas is returned to the bed. Steam from the waste heat boiler is also supplied to the fluidizing gas before it re-enters the bed to heat the fluidizing gas.

A coke oven, comprises a housing having an interior vertically elongated coke oven chamber with a plurality of vertically extending binding walls subdividing the oven chamber into a plurality of heating flues. A nozzle in each of the binder walls between the heating flues discharges a rich gas into each flue. In addition, the binder walls contain respective first and second vertical air ducts arranged in alternate binder walls between the flues with alternate ones of the air ducts having discharges at one or more levels above the others of each binder duct wall and connecting into the flues on each side of the associated binding wall. An air duct supply is connected separately to the alternate ones in each of the other air supply ducts.

A preheating moist fine material, such as pit coal and lignate, peat, wood, oil shale, or even ores or limestone for cement production, and an apparatus for carrying out the method are disclosed. Moist fine material is mixed above a heater with predried and preheated material until the mixture is made fluid. The fluid mixture slides down between and piles up to a level above the heater. A part of the predried and preheated fine material is removed from below the heater in an amount corresponding to another part thereof and is conveyed to above the heater with the moist fine material.
