    摘要: An integrated medical testing device includes a testing meter and lancing device, the meter having a housing, a display, a test element opening, a firing mechanism and a navigation mechanism integrated with a lancing device. The lancing device is at least partially located in the housing and includes a tip having an opening through which a lancet extends upon firing. Various mechanisms can be used to extend the tip from the housing and to prime and fire the lancing device. The lancing device can accommodate a single lancet or a cartridge having multiple lancets. If a cartridge is used, various mechanisms can be utilized to position an unused lancet for firing after a test has been conducted. The relative locations of the lancing device and test element opening are such that the integrated meter and lancing device can be used with a test element inserted in the test element opening. The integrated meter and lancing device can include status indicators that reflect the state of the lancing device.

    摘要: An electronic device enclosure having an integrated in-mold foil, which prevents fluid ingress around an included display of the electronic device, is disclosed. A portion of the in-mold foil is adapted to the specific contour and profile of the display, thereby allowing a user to use a touch screen interface of the display with no shortcomings.     摘要: A biosensor for detecting an analyte in a sample of body fluid and methods for manufacturing the biosensor are disclosed. In one embodiment, a biosensor includes at least two electrical conductors embedded within an electrically insulating test element body. The electrical conductors are exposed at two ends of the test element body and a reagent, for example a reagent adapted to test for blood glucose, is applied to one end. In one form, the test element body is cylindrical with a circular or non-circular cross-sectional shape. In other embodiments, the test elements are manufactured by a resin pultrusion process in which resin embedded with electrical conductors is dried or cured, shaped and cut into segments, and reagent applied to one end of each segment.

    摘要: A hand-held biosensing meter includes an ejection mechanism housed by the meter for ejecting a test element from the meter. The meter housing is provided with a port to receive the test element. The ejection mechanism includes a drive portion associated with the receptacle and a trigger portion that is associated with the drive portion and releasably engageable to the housing. Displacement of the trigger portion causes the drive portion to automatically eject the test element from the port of the meter housing. Insertion of a test element into the port re-positions the ejection mechanism to its locked position and provides an indication to the user that the test element is properly inserted into the meter.
