At least two different time division duplexing configurations can be communicated from serving cells to a device, the subframes of the at least two different configurations being counted for purposes of operating at least one timer function according to a predefined rule of counting. Discontinuous communications by the serving cells with the device are controlled based on the predefined rule of counting such that at least one timer function associated with discontinuous reception from the serving cells is operated based on the counting.

    摘要: A method for providing SI updates for a carrier aggregation system is described. The method includes, for each other CC of a configured set of CCs, determining a start time for the other CC when updated SI for the other CC becomes valid. A first time prior to each start time for the at least one other CC is determined. A message including the updated SI for the at least one other CC and an indication of the first time is sent on a first CC. A UE configured for a set of CCs receiving the message. For each CC of the configured set of CCs, a next time for the other CC which begins after the first time is determined and the UE is configured to use the updated SI for the other CC beginning at the next time. Apparatus and computer readable media are also described.

    摘要: In one exemplary aspect of this invention a method includes buffering data in a user equipment and, in response to an amount of buffered data exceeding a threshold value, triggering the generation of a buffer status report and the sending of the buffer status report to a network access node, where the threshold value is a function of the capacity of a currently allocated uplink data transmission resource and some certain amount of time. In another exemplary embodiment the triggering of the generation of the buffer status report and the sending of the buffer status report to a network access node occurs when an amount of buffered data in a buffer of a particular logical channel group exceeds a maximum value associated with one of a plurality of buffer status report tables that is currently in use.

    摘要: In a random access procedure, a downlink random access response indicates at least a timing advance and an explicit indication identifying one component carrier or cell (CC/Cell) of a plurality of component carriers or cells, or a group of CCs/Cells, to which the timing advance applies. The eNB or UE then operate their radio on the indicated one CC/Cell synchronous with the timing advance. In various embodiments the random access response may also indicate an uplink resource granted to the user equipment, which lies on that same one or group of CCs/Cells. The explicit indication may be a single bit indicating a timing advance group; a CC/Cell/group index whose presence in the response is indicated by a flag bit; a CC/Cell/group index in the response is known from the response's format whether it includes such an index, where the format indication can be via a bit in the response itself or RRC signaling or implicit from the RACH and cross-carrier scheduling being configured.
