摘要: Loose materials capable of fluidic flow are transferrable from a container via a neck or spout assembly which includes coaxially telescoping tubular members with the inner member having specially designed sidewall ports in communication through the inner member into the interior of the container to which the neck assembly is attached. The outer tubular member is biased so as to normally overlie the ports in closing relation. The neck assembly is adapted for use in transferring the materials into another container in which the other container includes an access opening in a lid or endwall dimensioned to permit passage of the inner tubular member of the neck assembly while blocking passage of the outer tubular member thereby permitting opening of the ports. The second container assembly can also include a resiliently biased plug mounted interiorly thereof for normally closing the access opening.

摘要: A dispenser assembly has been devised for the transfer of flowable materials from one container to another and is characterized in particular by the construction of a dispenser spout which is adapted to be releasably secured to a tubular extension projecting from the access opening of the supply container. The spout is comprised of an end closure having an open support adapted to be releasably inserted into the tubular extension such that the closure is spaced from the end of the tubular extension and the open support permits the passage of materials from the supply container. A movable sleeve in telescoping relation to the tubular extension is normally urged in a direction closing the passage formed by the open support outwardly of the tubular extension. When the spout is inserted into an access opening for a container to be filled, the movable sleeve is engaged by the surrounding edge of the access opening and retracted in a direction to open the passage for escape of material from the supply container into the container to be filled.

摘要: A mechanism for driving needles of a sewing machine to produce for example a two thread interlocked chain stitch. To a frame is mounted a pair of eccentric cams for rotation generally about 180.degree. out of phase with each other about an axis, the cams having peripheral bearing surfaces of predetermined contour. The shape of the peripheral bearing surfaces of the eccentric cams and of inner and exterior bearing surfaces on circumscribing cam cage followers, and the position of edge guides positioned about the outer surface of the cam cage followers so as to bear against parts of the cam cage followers, are such as to provide relative movement and orientation of each cam cage follower in a complete cycle to permit sewing machine needles associated with the cam cage followers to stitch a chain stitch. The mechanism according to the present invention permits sewing of broad fabrics by a single head unit without a cantilever arm, since a looper, located on the opposite side of the material being sewn is not required. From a single rotary input driving shaft, relative needle movement may be achieved with exact kinematic control, using no gears, chains or timing pulleys as required on traditional, known types of sewing machine needle drive mechanisms.

摘要: A method and apparatus for use in helical filament winding operations, wherein the filament to be wound is axially displaced a predetermined amount as it is drawn about a traction roller by a driven form or mandrel on which the filament is to be wound, whereby the degree of axial displacement of the filament on the traction roller determines the angle of helical wind on the winding surface. A filament guide is provided comprising a traction roller about which, in operation, the filament to be wound is drawn to rotate the roller. A means is provided which contacts the filament in order to axially displace the filament on the traction roller a predetermined amount with respect to filament input and filament output paths thereby defining the helix angle of wrap on the form. This filament contact means is movable, under force as applied thereon by the filament leaving the roller, between predetermined limits in a direction parallel to the axis of the roller. The guide further comprises means to reverse the axial displacement of the filament when the filament axial displacement means reaches the predetermined limit in each direction, thereby defining the limits of movement of the filament axial displacement means and, as well, the limits of the filament winding on the form. The method and apparatus according to the present invention provides a simple, inexpensive and effective means to provide uniform helical wound filament for a wide variety of applications, such as storage of textile filaments in rolls, production of continuous reinforcement composite pipe and the like.

摘要: A dispensing and measuring device for dry particulate matter includes a container having a downwardly discharging outlet therein and a guideway port extending transversely therethrough beneath the outlet. A measuring scoop having a tapered forward end is adapted for insertion into the guideway port so as to be positioned immediately beneath the discharge outlet. A spring-biased closure plate disposed within the guideway port immediately beneath the outlet is guided by a slide member between guide rails longitudinally on either side of the outlet so that the closure plate is movable longitudinally of the guideway port to open and close the outlet, return springs being connected to the closure plate to maintain the closure plate in a normally closed position beneath the outlet. A V-shaped shoulder member projects downwardly from the underside of the closure plate into the path of travel of the tapered forward end of the measuring scoop to cause the closure plate to move away from the outlet to permit discharge of the contents of the container into the measuring scoop. As the measuring scoop is removed from the guideway port, the return springs cause the closure plate to return to its closed position beneath the outlet thereby closing the outlet.
