    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an inkjet printing process that comprises inkjet printing an inkjet ink composition onto a substrate to form a printed inkjet ink layer. The inkjet ink composition comprises a colorant, a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water, wherein the amount of curable polyurethane dispersed in the inkjet ink composition is 0.1 to 30 weight %. A radiation-curable overcoat composition is applied over the printed inkjet ink layer as an overcoat layer. The overcoat composition comprises a curable polyurethane dispersion, a photoinitiator and water. The printed inkjet ink layer is then cured on the substrate by exposing both the overcoat layer and inkjet ink layer on the substrate to radiation.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes ink compositions having a polyurethane binder that can be used for textile printing. In one example, an ink composition can include water, an organic co-solvent, a colorant, and a polyurethane binder. The polyurethane binder can include pre-polymer segments that include polymerized monomers of a diisocyanate, a graft diol, a polymeric diol, and an acid-containing diol. The graft diol can include thioglycerol having a polymer sidechain replacing a hydrogen atom on a sulfur atom of the thioglycerol. The polymer sidechain can include a polymerized monomer of an acrylate ester, a methacrylate ester, a styrene, or a combination thereof. The polyurethane binder can also include chain extenders connecting the pre-polymer segments. The chain extenders can include a polymerized sulfonate-containing diamine.

    Abstract: A textile printing system includes an ink composition and a fabric substrate. The ink composition includes from 50 wt % to 95 wt % water, from 4 wt % to 49 wt % organic cosolvent, from 0.5 wt % to 12 wt % pigment with a dispersant associated with a surface thereof, and from 0.5 wt % to 20 wt % polyurethane-latex hybrid particles. The polyurethane-latex hybrid particles include a polyurethane shell having an acid number from 50 mg KOH/g to 110 mg KOH/g and a (meth)acrylic latex core having a glass transition temperature from −30° C. to 50° C. A weight ratio of polyurethane shell to (meth)acrylic latex core is from 1:19 to 3:7 in this example.

    Abstract: A graft polyurethane copolymer dispersion can include dispersed polyurethane particles including a graft polyurethane copolymer. The graft polyurethane copolymer in this example includes a polyurethane backbone, a graft side-chain polymer attached to the polyurethane backbone, sulfonic acid groups, and isocyanate-generated amines. The graft side-chain polymer can include a poly(meth)acrylic moieties with C1 to C12 alkyl pendant groups, polyalkylene oxide pendant groups, or a combination thereof.

    Abstract: The present disclosure sets forth ink compositions having a biodegradable polyurethane binder that can be used for textile printing. In one example, an ink composition can include water, an organic co-solvent, a colorant, and a biodegradable polyurethane binder. The biodegradable polyurethane binder can include prepolymer segments including polymerized monomers of a diisocyanate and a diol. The diol can include to terminal 6-hydroxyhexanoate groups linked by an organic linking group. Chain extenders can connect the prepolymer segments. The chain extenders can include a polymerized diamine.
