摘要: In a stitch control process of the sewing machine which employs a microcomputer with an electronic memory storing stitch control signals and a needle position control motor and a fabric feed control motor, the microcomputer controls the needle position and the fabric feed control motors at certain rotation phases of the sewing machine. The microcomputer temporarily holds, during the operation of the sewing machine, the needle and feed control data and the feed control amount based on the feed control data which are read out in each phase and calculates the addition of the feed control amount and the needle control amount based on the needle control data which is read out at the following phase. If the calculating result is more than a predetermined value, the microcomputer employs the needle and feed control data read out at the preceding phase instead of the needle and feed control data read out at the following phase to control the feed and needle control motors with a total value of the needle and feed control amounts which is less than the predetermined value.

摘要: When a pulse motor in an electronic sewing machine is to be subjected to a heavy load, the pulse motor is operated at a slower speed in order to cause the pulse motor to operate at a rate in which it has a maximum torque output. For lesser load conditions, pulse motor speed is allowed to increase. Speed control of the pulse motor follows a generally trapezoidal curve, which curve includes a speed-up section and a slow-down section, and may include a flat section. That portion of the generally trapezoidal curve along which motor speed follows is determined by the distance which the pulse motor is required to move.

摘要: A logic circuit generates in succession the stitch-control data for the successive stitches of a selected stitch pattern. The logic circuit does not store simultaneously all the stitch-control data for all the stitches of all the selectable stitch patterns, in the way done by conventional addressable random-access stitch-pattern memories. Instead, the logic circuit assumes successive states, in response to successive machine-synchronized pulses. In each state it generates, in the sense of bringing into existence for the first time, stitch-control data for the next stitch to be produced, this stitch-control data being derived from data related to a preceding stitch, e.g., the stitch-control data for the preceding stitch. The number of logic elements needed is low compared to that needed for a random-access stitch-pattern memory of the type storing all the stitch-control data for all the stitches of all the selectable patterns.

摘要: A first memory stores stitch control signals. A second memory stores these signals temporarily and reads them out to enable stitches to be formed. As a pattern is stitched, the first memory is readdressed and stitch control signals are successively written into and read out of the second memory. In one embodiment, the second memory is a RAM--in a second embodiment, the second memory is a shift register. Monostable multivibrators are used to operate the memories.

摘要: A drive motor drives a reciprocating sewing needle. A static memory has lateral-control-signal outputs at which it furnishes signals indicating how much the needle should be laterally shifted for each stitch in a selected pattern, and feed-control-signal outputs at which it furnishes signals indicating how much a work feeding device should feed the work for each stitch of the pattern. An addressing circuit response to a pattern selector applies to the static memory a repeated sequence of address signals, causing the memory to produce repeated sequences of lateral-control and feed-control signals at its outputs. The first address signal in any of the repeated sequences of address signals causes the static memory to produce at its output a first lateral-control signal constituting a maximum-speed-establishment signal, and a first feed-control signal constituting a maximum-permissible-speed signal. A latch receives the feed-control signals but does not in general register them, except when activated. A detector receives the lateral-control signals, and in response to the maximum-speed-establishment signal activates the latch which then registers the maximum-permissible-speed signal. A motor speed limiter limits the speed of the drive motor in dependence upon the signal registered by the latch.

摘要: A sewing machine which utilizes a pulse motor to vary feed rate in steps is equipped with a microcomputer that causes the pulse motor to operate in a repeated sequence in which two adjacent feed rates are alternated. By operating the computer in accordance with a manually-operable control, an overall feed rate can be produced which is intermediate the two adjacent feed rates.

摘要: An arrangement for forming patterns made up of stitches includes a memory, a stitch-forming apparatus, an addressing device and a synchronizing device. The memory has a plurality of outputs and a plurality of address signal inputs and is comprised of a plurality of storage units connected to the inputs and outputs and addressable by address signals applied to the address signal inputs of the memory. The stitch-forming apparatus has a plurality of stitch control signal inputs connected to outputs of the memory and operative for producing any of a plurality of different stitches in dependence upon the signals produced at the outputs of the memory. The addressing device is operative when activated for applying to the address signal inputs of the memory next-address signals derived from the signals produced at the outputs of the memory itself. The synchronizing device activates the addressing device repeatedly and in synchronism with the operation of the switch-forming apparatus.
