摘要: A valve mechanism for a brake booster includes a valve element and a valve seat, either of which includes a first seat through which an orifice passage is formed and a second seat. Under an intermediate load condition when a forward movement of an input shaft ceases, the first seats become engaged with each other and the orifice passage is effective to maintain a communication therethrough. Subsequently when the valve element and the valve seat are more strongly abutting together, the second seats engage to interrupt the communication.

摘要: In a negative pressure boosting device of the present invention, upon depression of a pedal at a normal speed, an input shaft 11 and a valve plunger 10 move forward to close a vacuum valve 15 and open an atmospheric valve 16 and a power piston 5, a valve body 4, and an output shaft 24 move forward. In the initial stage of operation, hooks 27c and 31a are not engaged with each other so that a cylindrical member 27 does not move forward, thereby shortening the stroke of the input shaft 11 as compared to a conventional one. Upon rapid depression of the pedal, a press face 10a presses a pressed face 27e so as to deform an engaging arm portion 27b, thereby disengaging the hooks 27c and 31a from each other. The cylindrical member 27 is moved backward by a spring 30 to push a vacuum valve portion 12b so that the atmospheric valve portion 12a is spaced apart from the atmospheric valve seat 14 more rapidly than that of the service braking, thereby increasing the jumping amount and thus rapidly intensifying the output.

摘要: An automatic brake booster 1 includes a solenoid 8 which causes a back- and forth movement of a solenoid plunger 31 to switch a valve mechanism 6. A second vacuum valve seat member 11 including a second vacuum valve seat 12 which is juxtaposed with a first vacuum valve seat 10 on a valve body 3 and a pressure responsive area 34 subject to a pressure of a variable pressure chamber and a pressure of a constant pressure chamber is slidably mounted on the valve body. The effect of the pressure differential acting upon the pressure responsive area is balanced with the force resulting from the excitation of the solenoid plunger 31 to deliver a brake output which corresponds to the force. The invention enables a high accuracy control of a brake output during an automatic brake operation.

摘要: An apparatus for painting a portion of a two piece shell of a brake booster joined together by a caulking operation. The two pieces are disposed in opposing relationship to each other, and a shear caulking operation is applied to the outer periphery thereof at a plurality of locations, thereby joining the pieces together to define a shell. The shell is held so as to be rotatable about its axis, and a nozzle of a paint applicator is disposed in opposing relationship with the outer periphery of the shell. By rotating the shell through a given angle, paint is applied to successive caulked portions.

The display unit 3 displays, in an intersection where an axis interconnecting the position of the eyes of the driver that has been detected by the eye position detecting unit 2 and the awareness object of which the driver should be aware intersects the vehicle glasses 11, 12 and 13 or in a neighborhood of that intersection, the information of the awareness object detected by the awareness information detecting unit 1 or the emphatic display.

摘要: In a negative pressure booster of the present invention, a threshold line for starting a BA operation at a pedal step-in speed equal to or more than a predetermined speed is set, an inclination of the threshold line is set to a value equal to a servo ratio SR2 smaller than a servo ratio SR1 during a usual braking operation in a low input region (a small pedal step-in region) and is set to a value equal to the servo ratio SR1 during the usual braking operation in a high input region (a large pedal step-in region). That is, the threshold line for starting the BA operation is adjustable between the high input time and the low input time. Further, even when a brake pedal is stepped in at the step-in speed equal to or more than the predetermined speed in spite of a fact that the time when the braking is performed is not an emergency time, the BA operation is not performed and hence, an undesired BA operation can be prevented. In emergency and, at the same time, when the brake pedal is stepped in at the step-in speed equal to or more than the predetermined speed and with a step-in force equal to or more than a predetermined step-in force, the BA operation is started.

摘要: In an automatic brake booster, a sleeve 18 constituting a valve mechanism 15 has a drive portion 50 disposed on the front side, a valve portion 51 forming a second valve seat 19, a mating portion 52 for mating with a valve seat portion when the drive portion is moved forward, and a conical spring 53 disposed between the drive portion and the valve seat portion and used for separating both members from each other. The conical spring is compressed during the normal braking operation so as to make the opening amount of the second valve seat greater than that during the automatic braking operation. Moreover, a plate plunger 40 for transmitting braking counterforce is relatively displaceably provided and a first member 71 and a second member 71 for mutually contacting a reaction disc 41 is also provided, so that the braking counterforce of the first member is transmitted to the sleeve during the automatic braking operation.

摘要: A valve plunger, which forms part of a reaction mechanism of a brake booster, comprises a plunger member and a valve side member which are disposed to be slidable relative to each other, with a first spring disposed therebetween. A piston is slidably disposed within a valve body, and a given clearance is formed between the rear end face of the plunger member and the piston. A second spring having a greater resilience than the first spring is disposed between the piston and the valve body, and is compressed after the first spring is initially compressed. With this construction, as a brake reaction increases, the first spring is compressed to cause the plunger member to abut against the piston, and subsequently the first and second spring are compressed. A point where the compression of the first spring is initiated can determine a point where a servo ratio is changed, and the magnitudes of the resilience of the both springs permit an arbitrary choice of a servo ratio which prevails subsequent to the point where the servo ratio is changed.

摘要: A tubular member 21 is disposed within a valve body 6, and has a resilient retainer 69 mounted around the outer periphery thereof. The inner periphery of the valve body 6 is formed with an annular groove 68. When a brake pedal is quickly depressed, an input shaft 23 and the tubular member 21 are driven forward through more than a given stroke relative to the valve body, whereby a projection 69a of the retainer 69 becomes engaged with the annular groove 68. This produces and maintains a large opening in an atmosphere valve 32. Accordingly, an output from a tandem brake booster 1 can be increased immediately in response to a quick depression of the brake pedal.
