摘要: To facilitate discrimination of a curb, a gutter or the like by using an infrared illuminating device and an infrared-sensitive image pickup device mounted on an exterior mirror of a vehicle when the vehicle is pulled over to a shoulder at night. Two illuminating devices having optical axes oriented downward are mounted on a housing of a side mirror at a distance from each other in the lateral direction of a vehicle. The illuminating devices alternately emit infrared light downwardly. An image pickup device sensitive to infrared light having an optical axis oriented downward is mounted on the housing at a middle position between the left and right illuminating devices. An image taken by the image pickup device is displayed on an image monitor disposed at a position where the monitor can be viewed from the driver seat.

A region of a mirror element that transmits display light is formed of a wire grid having a polarization direction that agrees with the polarization direction of the display light. A region of the mirror element adjacent to the wire grid is formed of a reflective film formed of a reflective metal film or a dielectric multilayer film. The grid of the wire grid is formed of Al thin lines, for example. The reflective film is formed of a Cr half mirror, for example. A dark color mask is disposed on the back surface of the Cr half mirror.

摘要: A bodily fluid absorbent pad has a shape symmetric in a longitudinal direction as well as in a transverse direction. A dimension of the pad in the transverse direction is larger in opposite end regions than in an intermediate region. The pad is formed along opposite side edges with first and second compressed lines. Paired compression rolls are used to form the first and second compressed lines, and at least one roll constituting the paired compression rolls is formed on a peripheral surface thereof with compressing units projecting from the peripheral surface. The compressing units are arranged in a circumferential direction to form one row and at least one additional row adjacent to the one row in an axial direction of the roll. There is an offset between the compressing unit in the one row and the compressing units in the other row in the circumferential direction.

摘要: The present invention enables switching between bright-light shooting and low-light shooting with an infrared cut filter placed on an optical path. An optical system captures and focuses image light from a subject. The focused image light passes through a multilayer infrared cut filter placed on an optical path of the image light and forms an image on an imaging device. The imaging device has sensitivity to at least the visible to near-infrared region. The infrared cut filter is constructed by forming a multilayer dielectric film on a surface of a transparent substrate. The infrared cut filter has a cutoff wavelength near a boundary between the visible region and near-infrared region and is configured so as to have a high incident-angle dependence. An angle of the infrared cut filter with respect to an optical axis of the optical system is varied by an incident angle varying mechanism according to an amount of light on the subject, shifting the cutoff wavelength.

A warming device includes a structure in which a small heating chamber is housed in an inner space of a heat-retaining hot fluid storage chamber and an electric heater is housed in an inner space of the small heating chamber. The heat-retaining hot fluid storage chamber has a heat-insulating structure. The small heating chamber has a moderate thermal conductivity. A washer fluid fed from a washer tank is supplied to the small heating chamber through the heat-retaining hot fluid storage chamber, warmed by the heater and ejected from a washer nozzle.
