    摘要: In a multi-dimensional data management method in a database management system, a collection of members constituting each dimension is grouped and page indexes constituted by entries corresponding to combinations of member groups of each dimension are assigned to a memory unit. A set of member groups corresponding to input data is determined from a set of members of dimensions specifying the input data and an entry of page index corresponding to the set of member groups is obtained. When a page number is not registered in said obtained entry, a page is assigned in the memory unit and the page number of the page is registered in the entry. The input data and identification information of the data are paired to be stored in the page having the page number registered in the entry.

    摘要: Performance of a storage subsystem is monitored at a proper level in a computer system having host computers, the storage subsystems, and a management computer. Each storage subsystem has physical disks and a disk controller to control input/output of the data to/from the physical disks. The disk controller provides storage areas of the physical disks as one or more logical volumes to the host computer. The management computer makes each of the logical volumes correspond to one of a plurality of groups, sets monitoring conditions of the logical volumes every group, monitors performance information of the logical volumes in accordance with the set monitoring conditions, and if a correspondence between the logical volume and the group is changed, changes the monitoring conditions set to at least one of the plurality of groups.

To provide the configuration, a storage managing system acquires access information indicating an access load to a logical volume in a storage subsystem from a device file in a host server as access information in a page unit. The storage managing system acquires, from a storage subsystem having a hierarchical pool function, information concerning the configuration and a capacity of hierarchies of the storage subsystem. A capacity of the logical volume is calculated from the number of pages and a page unit capacity indicated by the access information. The storage managing system calculates, on the basis of information concerning the capacity of the logical volume and information concerning the configuration and the capacity of the hierarchies, a configuration candidate of a hierarchical pool for allocating a storage region for storing data included in the logical volume via the hierarchical pool to a virtual logical pool and outputs the configuration candidate of the hierarchical pool.
