    摘要: There is provided a printing head in which a printing element substrate is hard to be deformed even if the printing head falls by mistake. The printing head comprises an element substrate in which an energy generating element for generating energy used for ejecting ink is provided, a first sheet-shaped portion to which the element substrate is provided, a second sheet-shaped portion provided away from the first sheet-shaped portion at an opposite side to a direction of ejecting the ink in relation to the first sheet-shaped portion, and a sheet-shaped wall member connecting the first sheet-shaped portion to the second sheet-shaped portion, wherein the wall member has a thickness of a portion connected to the second sheet-shaped portion, which is larger than a thickness of a portion connected to the first sheet-shaped portion.

    摘要: A printing head, which can suppress the occurrence of cracks in a printing element substrate, even if accidentally dropped, includes the printing element substrate, an ink flow passage and a sheet-shaped portion comprising a rectangular major surface. A rear surface side of the major surface of the sheet-shaped portion is provided with a space formed separately from the ink flow passage.     摘要: There is provided a printing head, enabling to suppress the occurrence of cracks in a printing element substrate, even if the printing head is erroneously fallen.     摘要: The printing head has connection terminals for performing an electrical connection of signals including drive signals of print elements by contacting connection terminals in on an apparatus side when the head is mounted onto an ink jet printing apparatus. Connections of all terminals can be guaranteed by detecting contacts of a part of terminals. Among the terminals in the head, terminals whose distances from the connection terminals in the printing apparatus become maximum when a deviation occurred in the mounting are used as terminals for contact detection. For example, from among the connection terminals arranged in a planar area, which is rectangular-shaped, terminals positioned in corners are used as the terminals for the contact detection. When the contacts of these terminals are detected, the connections of all the terminals inside the area can be guaranteed.

A plurality of the heat generating members is provided in each of the ink flow passages, and the discharge port is arranged on an extension line extending from a center of a pressure generating area composed of the plurality of heat generating members toward the surface of the substrate in a normal direction. Moreover, a distance dhc between centers of each of two heat generating members arranged most apart from each other among the plurality of heat generating members is set to be larger than a diameter do of an aperture of the discharge port. In the ink jet head, even if the center position of the discharge port and the center position of the pressure generating area are somewhat shifted from each other, main liquid droplets of the ink are discharged from the discharge port without generating no shift in their discharge directions.
