摘要： An image forming apparatus comprises a rotatable image carrying member, a charger, a scanner unit for forming a latent image at an exposure position on the surface of the image carrying member charged by the charger, a developing device for converting the latent image to a toner image, and a transfer roller for transferring the toner image on the image carrying member to a recording paper by application of a transfer voltage to the toner image. A conductive member is provided on a charger case covering the charger adjacent to the charger and between the charger and the exposure position. The conductive member is positioned close to the surface of the photosensitive drum. Thus, ions (positive charges) generated by the charger are prevented from reaching the exposure position where the latent image is formed. As a result, negative effects on the image quality of the toner image caused by ions generated by the charger inadvertently recharging discharged portions of the surface of the image carrying member can be averted. Additionally, the image forming apparatus comprises a pre-charging device for emitting light to fully discharge the image carrying member before it is charged by the charger. A blocking wall extends circumferentially along the image carrying member from a partition wall positioned between the charger and the pre-charging device. The blocking wall prevents light emitted by the pre-charging device from reaching the charger, thus preventing the pre-charger from inadvertently discharging the image carrying member.

摘要： A droplet ejection apparatus includes a plurality of tanks, a plurality of sub-tanks, a replenishment amount detector, a liquid replenisher and a recording head. Each of the plurality of tanks is capable of storing a different kind of basic liquid. The plurality of sub-tanks includes a first sub-tank that includes a mixed liquid of two or more of the different kinds of the basic liquids from the plurality of tanks. The replenishment amount detector detects amount of each of the different kinds of the basic liquids to be transferred to the first sub-tank. The liquid replenisher transfers the basic liquids stored in the tanks into the sub-tanks until a predetermined amount for each of the basic liquids is detected by the replenishment amount detector. The recording head ejects the liquids supplied from the sub-tanks in a form of droplets.

摘要： At a predetermined position during the lateral movement of a carriage 10, a gap switching mechanism 30 for switching a gap between a recording head 15 and a recording medium is provided. The recording head 15 is mounted facing downward on the carriage 10. A part close to one side on a lower end of the carriage is slidably and pivotably supported by a guide shaft 11 of a round shaft shape. A switching block member 13 provided with several abutment portions 52 and 53 with different heights, which are positioned so as to be opposed to a slide portion 12a at an upper end of a frame 12 extending in a vertical direction along a back of the carriage. The A switching block member 13 is pivotably supported by the carriage. A first pushing portion 56 is located at a left end of the frame so as to abut against the switching block member 13. A pivotal posture of the first pushing portion is changed due to the abutment to bring the abutment portion 53 into a slide contact relationship with the frame 12, so that a small gap is provided. A second pushing portion 57 is located at a right end of the frame so as to abut against the switching block member 13, a pivotal posture of the first pushing portion is changed according to the abutment to bring the abutment portion 52 into a slide contact relationship with the frame 12, so that a large gap is provided.

摘要： A facsimile apparatus includes a main body frame, an operable cover plate for covering at least the front top of the main body frame, a separating roller for separating a document sheet attached to the main body frame and a document feeding mechanism for feeding a document sheet separated by the separating roller. All of the rollers in the document feeding mechanism are attached to the main body frame. Since all rollers of the document feeding mechanism are attached to the main body frame, it is not necessary that the cover plate have high rigidity. Consequently, the weight of the cover plate can be reduced, and the manufacturing cost of the cover plate can be reduced.

摘要： A facsimile machine has various detection devices. One of the detection device detects a sheet medium. The detection device includes a reflection type sensor directly mounted on a control board. An actuator is pivotally movably supported in a main frame of the facsimile machine. The actuator has a pivot shaft portion, a first arm and a second arm those extending from the pivot shaft portion. A free end of the first arm is abuttable on the sheet medium. If sheet medium is transferred to a predetermined portion, an edge of the sheet urges the free end to angularly rotate the actuator. A free end of the second arm is provided with a reflection member. The angular movement of the actuator causes the reflection member to be brought into confrontation with the reflection type sensor so as to detect passage of the sheet medium. A regulation member is integrally provided to the reflection member. The regulation member is brought into contact with the control board because of the gravity of the actuator, so that a given distance is provided between the reflection member and the reflection type sensor in the confronting state therebetween. The other sensor device may detects moving phase of a movable member. To this effect, the free end of the first arm is abuttable on the movable member.
