摘要: A position regulating parts feeder has a rotary hopper (11) and a slanted chute (20) fixed in the hopper that has lift plates (12) secured to its inner periphery. The chute is composed of an upstream receiving section (21), a middle sorting section (22) and a downstream discharging section (23). A groove (51) formed in the upstream section has an open top and is of a depth enough to wholly embrace each of the parts (1) lying on its side such that its front and rear faces are oriented sideways. The side walls have upper oblique zones (31c) and (41c) to widen the groove towards its top. A path defined in the middle section and continuing from the groove is composed of a main passageway (53) extending to the downstream section for transfer of the regularly positioned parts, and an auxiliary passageway (54) branching off from the main one for transfer of the inverse parts to an outlet (35) formed in a bottom of the chute.

摘要: An apparatus makes self-piercing nuts from blanks (11) each having a cylindrical pilot portion (13) which has a raw unopened and unthreaded bore (12) and an end surface serving as a punch. The pilot portion surrounded by a rim (14) extending along a periphery a nut body, and an annular groove (15) is present between the pilot (13) and the rim. The apparatus has a punching die which has a boring punch (33) and a first cylindrical insert (35) fitted on the punch serving to open the bore (12). The boring punch has at its basal portion a tapered annular wall (34), and the cylindrical insert (35) having at its end surface an annular lug (36) capable of fitting in the annular groove. The tapered wall (34) radially expands an end of the pilot portion, so that its peripheral wall is forcibly slanted in a radial direction and an annular edge (13a) of the peripheral wall is stopped by an inner periphery of the annular lug (36). Due to this feature, the apparatus can mass-produce the self-piercing nut of an accurate dimension which can smoothly punch an opening trough a metal plate, and an invariable and sufficient clinching force is ensured to the self-piercing nut.

摘要: An apparatus for automatically causing the end face of a self-piercing nut (N) to function as a punch for piercing a metallic panel (P) laid on a caulking die (1) so that the nut is fixed to the panel. The apparatus has a pair of gripping fingers (31, 32) attached to the opposite sides of the lower end of a striking punch (2), and has a workpiece butting leg member (25) extending in parallel with a vertical bore (4) formed through a slide guide (3). The leg member (25) is attached to and depends from the bottom surface of the slide guide (3), so that the punch (2) holding the nut (N) by means of the gripping fingers (31, 32) will penetrate the slide guide (3) and then descend along the leg member (25), until the nut punches and is secured to the metal panel (P). Thus, the self-piecing nut (N) can be fixed to any bent bottom of or any narrow recess in the metal panel (P).

摘要: A supply chute 11 has a nut send-in port 14 at its upper end, and is composed of an inclined chute 12 inclined obliquely downward, and a curved chute 13 coupled to the lower end of the inclined chute 12 and curved like an arc obliquely downward. A nut support mechanism 40 is disposed at a nut send-out port 15 provided at a terminal end of the curved chute 13, for supporting the nuts 60 being forwarded so that their bonding side 62 may be in an oblique downward position nearly orthogonal to the axial line of a guide rod 20. The inclined chute 12, the curved chute 13, the guide rod 20, and driving means 25 for moving the guide rod 20 back and forth in an oblique downward direction are mounted on a stand 22 installed rotatably on a support member 33 by way of a horizontal support shaft 35, and the support member 33 is coupled and fixed to a main body arm 2 of the bonding machine 1. When the guide rod 20 moves forward obliquely downward, the holding pin 21 protruded on the front end of the guide rod 20 penetrates through screw holes 61 of the nuts 60 supported on the support mechanism 40, and pieces through and holds, and the leading end of the holding pin 21 approaches and moves to the leading end of a positioning pin 5, and the screw holes 61 of the nuts 60 held on the holding pin 21 are supplied in fitting with the positioning pin 5.
